FIRST of the two missions: No points. Stepped in camel poop
while heading to my 109F (what a beautiful war bird!) Took off
with the hot, desert sand blowing in my face, climbed per
mission brief and turned on my headings as specified (my flight
setting on medium) ...was immediately jumped by a half dozen
EFFECTIVE Hurricanes (don't know the limey's skill levels but
they were pretty damned good, Vet at least, maybe Ace) ...then
suddenly bad news...shot out of the air virtually before I got a
single shot in. I managed to clamber out and jump, surviving
the mission. ;)

??? :(
Shot out of the air like a complete Novice!
Okay, better luck next mission (it's a two part one) and
hopefully will survive with better results. To be honest I
simply wasn't mentally SET to fly this first mission (very
life-like, I suppose) and my combat action and flying SHOWED how
poorly I was prepared. I was damned lucky to have survived this
mission. Fingers crossed on the next. I KNOW some of you guys
are going to cream me on this competition....lol...and more
power to you! ;D
I'll fly the second and last mission later today and simply add
it to THIS post for all of you to laugh about. :o ;D :'(
Salute!
Beo
*Bravery noted by your Geschwader Commander however
recommendation for additional training placed into your flight
dossier.

Results/description of mission: Zero points. Kaput.

I have flown the
first mission. I was so nervous about the pressure of doing well
on the first occasion, that I did everything wrong. I took off
and headed south as soon as I saw a Stuka coming to the base
with the engine stopped. Very soon I saw four Hurricane
attacking a squad of Stukas, I got behind one of them, the
English pilot climbed like a condemned man, making a complete
looping. In the descent I lost sight of him. Immediately another
Hurricane appeared behind me, shooting. I made a downward spiral
to the left to take it off, but my plane went into stall. I
couldn't get out of that situation, and I ended up swimming with
the Mediterranean tunas. [font=verdana, arial, helvetica,
sans-serif]My flight lasted a little more than four
minutes.
I flew this mission
in BAT, with all the realism options activated. I think that AI
in BAT is "smarter" or harder to fight than in a normal
installation of type 412.2m and SAS Modact or VP Modpack, but I
don't know if this is really so or if it just seems so.
Not happy with the
results, I went on the air again. This time I shot down numerous
enemies, until there were no more Hurricanes attacking. At all
times I kept control of my surroundings and my plane. I returned
to base, safe and sound, and my plane without a scratch. It has
been a real pleasure to fly the first mission again. This second
time, the flight lasted 20 minutes. As I have the recording, I
will make a small video later. The first flight has been so
painful that it does not deserve video.
I still have to fly the second mission, I'll do it
as soon as I have time for it.
Again, thank you very much for this entertaining
activity. After all, flying is what we like.

Cheers!
*Notation for bravery placed into your Geschwader records.

I suppose we will all experience something like this. Knowing
that we will share the results will affect the outcome.

Yep... my first mission was miserable too...embarrassing really,
especially knowing I was going to post it online for you guys to
see. Ha! ;D
That DOES make a difference, and yet the difference is part of
the fun when one thinks about it. We can cry when we do bad,
brag like hell when we do good.
Almost real life-ish. ;)

I managed to shoot down a Hurricane in Mission 01 but then got
splashed myself. There are a lot of Hurricanes up there!
*Geschwader records incomplete. Current status unknown. Pilot
missing in action, no further information other than one
recorded enemy kill and a crash into the sea. Seenotdienst
(air‑sea rescue service) using Heinkel‑59 float
aircraft searching for pilot and/or remains.

There are a lot of Hurri's. I'm assuming you died in your run
(so zero points?) Well go ahead and try the second mission,
perhaps you'll do better (pretend you're the brother of the
German pilot that got waxed. :D :D :D

Actual Mission Name: BattlePoints Mission #2
Date single mission actually flown: 1/25/2020
Results/description of mission: success (1 Kill, (mosquito, I
believe= 200 points) on the negative side I did crack up on
landing, my fault, not the plane. I misjudged the 'bounce' of
the terrain at the TD point and popped my gear...still, slid to
a stop with minimal damage. Plane is repairable.
Mission Score: [b]1 Kill = 200 points
Misc. Info if desired: *See below

Okay... was more careful this go round, though still having a
bit of trouble orientating myself. Good and solid takeoff,
followed original waypoints, climb to high altitude, roughly
2500k, spotted the enemy planes, a fairly large group of what
looked like Mosquito fighter bombers... ordered my men to attack
ALL, then pulled around to port, shoved the throttle forward and
dropped towards the enemy that had just passed me.
At high speed I slipped in behind them as they turned towards my
island airdrome installation, got close...maybe too close...but
was able to open up with effective fire on my target. About
three solid bursts from all guns and the enemy plane smoked
heavily and began wobbling in the air, I fired again and it
burst into bright, yellow flames in one engine --then fell from
formation on his starboard wing and vanished from my immediate
sight. I ignored him knowing he was mortally damaged and then
immediately lined up on another enemy and began firing... this
guy seemed to have a force field around him for I pumped
hundreds of rounds into him and all he did was smoke!
G'ah! Disgusted after exhausting my ammo with no major results,
I got the HELL out of the battle and dove AWAY from the main
action keeping a close eye on my rear for sneak attackers.
I then dropped to about 500k or so, circled the island, located
the field and lined up with the windblown runway for an
unhurried, three-point landing.... and as I said earlier, it
would/should have been great as everything was looking good on
field approach; I was relaxed but alert, I had flaps down and my
speed was correct ---but then I accidently touched down a 'bit'
out from the runway (only a few yards maybe) and bounced very
hard, and instantly broke a landing strut...tipping over on that
side and slipping/sliding to a dusty, smoking stop (likely
seized the engine from the bent prop.)
Damaged gear, damaged prop, ---maybe an engine overhaul but the
plane was definitely repairable. My mech wasn't going to be
happy though! :'(
From the look of it, my guys either nailed the enemy attacking
and or chased them away. The day was saved. No major damage to
the field/installation or nearby ships.
Great fun! And nice to finally score some points even if I did
damage my plane. Yep, smashed starboard gear...bent
prop...fixable! And with a kill and a heavy damage under my
belt! ;D
But most of all I survived again! ;D I must write to my wife
in Berlin and brag of my prowess! ;)

landing! But alive!

Finally!
A kill! And by the book, up close and personal from the 6:00
o'clock classic kill position...out of the sun with altitude and
speed advantage.

*Geschwader records one confirmed enemy kill for this pilot and
once again notes his bravery. Due to damage of plane upon
landing, again additional training recommended.

Results: Failed. Died when bounced by Hurricane
Mission score: Nil
Misc info.: Climbed rapidly, engine overheat as forgot to open
radiator. Landed on the tail of the left hand Hurricane and
fired several times at less than 40 range but no effect! I was
jumped by another Hurricane as the first one kept me climbing to
near stall. Sadly I left my bail out too low and died in the
water. Only 3 minutes to die!
Pilot bravery noted, next of kin notified.
