The Wald Werebeast
By: Overlordnim Date: April 16, 2013, 10:30 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
The Wald Werebeast, is a cousin to the north. They live pretty
much the same, only instead of being isolated and more on their
own types, they prefer the comfort of large packs, or two to
three other [in the case of werewolves] wolves.
Their mating habits are pretty much the same, and they mate for
life, and stay with their mate this way. Unlike the north
werewolf, the females will often seek males out, instead of
staying still, this is due to the fact they live in the Wald,
and find it safer to be on the move, and often travel with
packs. Males will often be on their own if they hadn't found a
mate yet, or they will be with other males, though
aggressiveness tends to drive males away from each other, some
can form a bond as brothers, or close friends. Once a male, or
female finds a mate, they will often leave their pack, or bond
groups, and start their own.
Unlike the north werewolf, the wald were beasts, can spread
their curse to others, and can even change into a mortal form.
It is unknown why this is an occurence in the Wald, but it is.
Much like the original werewolves of legend, a bite from one of
the beasts will prove the victim to be infected, the victim, if
the limp was not removed, and if they did not die, within three
days, they would start the change. The change will include,
chills, pain as if organs or bones are shifting, a change in
their smell, and the absent growing of fur, a tail, ears
[becoming longer, or fuzzy, or even turning into full wolf
ears], and the growing of claws, all premature the transition.
The transformation is always painful, either to wolf, or to
their mortal form, this usually results in the werebeasts
staying in one form, unless required to change. However there
are many were creatures born as a pup, that cannot change at
all, some refer to them as week minded, but these wolves are
usually the biggest, and meanest of the Wald wolves, usually
turning to be lone alpha leaders of large bond groups of males,
or going off on their own to wait for their chance to have their
fill of slaughter. The changing will cause the victim to feel as
though their skin is being ripped from them, and in some cases,
all the bones in their bodies will break, and reset when they
change fully to the wolf, this is usually only for first time
changing however. Once the victim is changed, they will be in a
berserk state of mind, all animal, and they will stay like this
for a day at least, usually they will go off, and kill anything
they see that is none wolf, males will often challenge other
males for dominance their first night of transition without
being in their average state of mind, this usually causes many
males to die before they regain their senses. Females will often
go off on their own, or meet up with other females of their
find, to wonder in their own Bond pack, females are attracted to
each other for safety, and many females the first night of
transition will find bond packs, almost immediately. After the
first 24 hours, they will regain their senses, and most likely
the victim will feel overwhelmingly tired, and often they will
sleep for a day, and then awake hungry. Their form does not
disperse it's self naturally, the victim must will it's self to
go back into form, usually needing the help of an elder, or a
person that is familiar with the transformations.
Some werewolves in the Wald prefer to live in mortal socialite,
staying in their mortal form for as long as possible, many
actually become werewolf hunters, to blend in, or be of use to
the socialite of the villages. This feeling is normal for many
werewolves of the Wald, they feel as though they must be useful
some how, most of the time lone werewolves with no purpose,
bring usefulness to themselves, by slaughtering village folk, or
cattle. The more social fitting werewolves often become hunters
of their own kind for this reason, to simply keep the berserk,
or unmindful in check.
Just like in the north breed, the females of this kind are
always on four legs, even the ones that turn into werewolves,
however they have the ability to stand on their two legs, they
usually only use this in dire needs of combat against males.

The curse can only really infect the more human races.
Prime races for the curse.
Humans. Angiles [their light however can cure the curse after
being infected so long as they do not transform. So it's Rare.].
Elves, of all kinds. Changlings. [though it is also rare due to
the fact shapeshifters will most of the time escape getting bit
by changing into a wolf]. And in some cases, devils, along with
more humanoid demons, though it depends on what species.
None available races for the curse. [small list]
Centaurs. Trolls. Navari [animal people]. Demons. Vampires.
Umbrakin. Etc. Etc.
Races the curse bite can kill.
Vampires.
The curse, though it is rare, can be born from those infected.
An infected female, can give birth to a baby with the curse from
birth, depending on which way they mate. If they mate in their
wolfen form, and stay that way through out the pregnancy, they
will most likely give birth to a pup, [of course requiring to
mate with another werewolf.] if a female were to mate in their
mortal form, say with another that is in their mortal form, they
will give birth to a cursed baby, and even mating with a none
cursed being, can sometimes, though very rarely, result in a
curse born.
