Live Event Results and Discussion
By: Thurl Date: March 6, 2016, 4:28 am
---------------------------------------------------------
I am creating this thread as a place to talk about any live
event you attend for any promotion to talk about the matches and
results. I will start with the event I went to this evening.
(Technically Yesterday.)
WWE Live event in Cedar Rapids IA 3/5/16
Standard Match: The Miz vs AJ Styles.
Winner: AJ Styles Via flying Elbow thing he hasn't named yet.
Somehow, AJ Styles pulled a great match out of Miz. At one
point, AJ was smashing Miz face against each turnbuckle and
after each one hitting a back hand chop. We did the obligatory
Flair woos after each one and on the fourth. Miz stumbled, then
obliged us with the Flair flop. It was one of the best Miz
matches I have ever seen. Also, I enjoyed my first live AJ
Styles match. Wish ROH would come here some time. AJ kicked out
Skull Crushing Finale twice too before hitting his finishing
flying elbow thing. This match was given a decent amount of time
too. Good one despite Miz botching a suplex at one point.
Tag team Match: Darren Young and Jack Swagger vs Social
Outcasts. (Rose and Axel)
Winners: Jack Swagger and Darren Young via Rose tapping to the
Patriot Lock
Didn't know Darren Young was still with the company, but it was
nice to see Swagger and he was fired up for the match. I don't
care a fig for the Social Outcasts but I got a good listen to
their entrance music and they have an awesome song for such a
lack luster team. Also, I found my self surprised to have a mild
mark out for Swagger. Guess he has been off TV for too long. We
the People!
US Title Match: Kalisto vs Wade Barret
Winner and still US Champion: Kalisto via Salida del Sol.
Before this match, Barret delivered a Bad News promo instead of
King Barret, then did not wear the crown or carry the scepter in
his entrance, I thought that was interesting. I didn't like
this match though and not because either wrestler sucked. It was
because it was poorly booked. It was basically a squash of
Kalisto until the last couple minutes when he hit his finisher
to win. That pulled me out of the match and I couldn't enjoy it.
Though the crowd did give a loud Lucha chant, and Barret did get
dueling chants, which may mean a push for him soon if anyone is
paying attention in back. By the way there was one kick that
Barret hit that he gave the loudest smacking sound I ever heard
from a kick. The whole arena groaned for Kalisto.
Triple Threat Tag team title match: New Day vs Usos vs Dudleys
Winners: New Day via roll up or something.
I am not a fan of New Day so I wasn't really invested to heavily
in this one, despite Big E being a University of Iowa graduate.
Though it was nice to see Dudleys live for the first time. No
tables involved. Though there was one nice moment where one of
the Usos flung the face of Xavier Woods face into Bubba's
crotch. Also, Xavier did go through just about everyone slapping
him on his back, hard, including Big E. and that was fun. Could
have been better with tables. Also, New Day came out first.
Finger of Shame, as Tito would say. Also of note, New Day wasted
a good 8-10 minutes with before match antics. Nothing even funny
really and I disconnected until the next team's music hit.
Intermission.
Sheamus vs Neville
Winner: Sheamus via White noise off the second Rope.
This was a fun match despite it being Sheamus. Neville gave
quite the fight to Sheamus, much more than I thought he would.
Match was decently back and fourth and not a squash. Neville got
his airtime but not his finisher. Solid match in the end and we
did chant to Sheamus that he looked stupid. Though I had the
misfortune of sitting next to Sheamus marks. Didn't expect
Sheamus since it was reported he was injured the previous night
in Minneapolis.
Diva's title: Charlotte vs Becky Lynch
Winner: Charlotte via roll up and a handful of Becky's tights.
I wondered going into this one if the women would be a bit more
aggressive and more like I hear they were on NXT for this match,
but really they weren't. Like much of the rest of the show, they
wrestled light, like they were being overly careful for no one
to get injured. (Speaking of which, Charlotte's nose is
apparently fine.) Nothing special really for this match, just
phoning it in I guess.
Main event: IC Title match Kevin Owens vs Dean Ambrose
Winner: Ambrose via DQ. (Owens had Ambrose in a corner and the
ref counted to five and he didn't stop.)
Didn't expect Ambrose, since on Raw Owens has been facing Big
Show. I am a Steen mark for his ROH days. (He is neutered by the
PG thing.) Again, I wish ROH would tour closer to hear than
Chicago. So it was nice to see him for the first time too. He
seemed shorter than I expected too. This match was pretty good.
Nothing to write home about though. Ambrose sold a bad landing
off the top turnbuckle and before I realized it was a work, I
thought he may be joining Rollins on the sidelines. There was
lots of flying Ambrose, which is always nice. This match took us
over the 10pm time too and we didn't get out until closer to
10:30. The finish came when Owens got himself dq's. He then
through a hissy fit and was yelling at the ref on the mic and
made sure to announce that he was still the IC champion even
though Ambrose won. Ambrose got the last laugh though when as
Owens was going on and on, He caught Owens with a Dirty Deeds to
send us home happy. Solid match from these two.
All in all a good show, given that Ambrose and AJ Styles were
the only A players on the card really. This was my first event
where they set up a titantron too, which made me happy cause
Titantrons make it better. I only have one complaint and that is
that WWE only had ONE merch stand as far as I can tell, and the
people running it were turtles. I almost missed the opening
match entrances while waiting to get my merch. (AJ Styles shirt
and Ambrose chain.) I was also dismayed that they raised the
shirt price from 25 to 30 dollars. Ah well, still got the things
I wanted, and it was cool to see they had replica Money in the
Bank Breifcases and lunch boxes for sale. I guess the only other
complaint I could have is some lazy booking presented itself as
they pulled the 'screw this I quit' walk off at least three
times with the face running out to drag them back in.
Match of the night: Miz vs AJ. None of the rest lived up to it.
Biggest pop of the night: AJ Styles, of course. With Swagger
getting the second biggest pop, of all people. Third being
Neville, then Barret with his dueling chants.
Biggest Boo: Miz. No contest.
Longest match: Miz/AJ
Shortest Match: Divas.
Biggest Merch mover: Kevin Owens. For the first time, I saw less
than five Cena shirts in the crowd from where I was. New Day did
OK too as dd the WWE tour shirt, and Styles's shirt. Usos would
be a close third place seller.

---------------------------------------------------------
Live event Road to Wrestlemania 2/26/17
SmackdownLive brand.
For a nose bleeder, my seat was not bad at all. I could see
almost all the way around the ring. The only things I didn't
care for were the giants sitting around me. To my right was a
guy so bit that I had to lean to my left to give him room.
Directly behind me, another giant that if I leaned all the way
back in my chair, my head would have been between his knees
cause they stuck that far out. Not the most comfortable seat,
but the view of the action was good. Speaking of the action...
Opening Match: Heath Slater and Rhyno vs The Ascension
Winners: Heath Slater and Rhyno,
Not a bad match at all. It was my first time seeing Rhyno
perform live and he was all about livening up the crowd if we
got quiet. And of course. Some old people like me were in the
audience because Rhyno got ECW chants. This was the best
performance I have seen out of Ascension. But for me, I have
only seen them outside of NXT. The finish came with a Gore from
Rhyno which I marked out for just a little bit.
Second match: Kalisto vs Kurt Hawkins.
Winner: Kalisto
Iowa likes lucha and we proved with giving the lucha chant
almost the most pop for the night. It was a good outing for
Kalisto, and no botches. Ending came with Kalisto's finisher
which I can never remember the name of. . I don't care much for
this current Kurt Hawkins. I liked him much, much better as an
edge head. Except for the kids chanting lucha, the crowd was
fairly dead for this match.
Match 3: Women's match for the Smackdown women's championship.
Becki Lynch vs Carmela (With James Ellsworth) vs Natalia vs
Tamina Snuka vs Alexa Bliss.
Winner" Alexa Bliss retained, (Because they never have title
changes at live shows.)
From the seat I had Bliss look 3 feet tall. Tiny woman. I will
admit I marked out for the first seconds of Natalia's theme
cause it reminds me so much of her Uncle Bret's music. Then it
fade because she is still Natalia. All the women got their
chances to shine. Tamina wasn't as dominant as I would have
booked her. (I would have booked her almost Nia Jax Dominant. )
Lots of good spots hit. Match was ok but towards the end I did
start dozing until action picked up for the finish. I can't
remember what the finish was due to coming out of a fog of
dozing off.
Match 5: The Miz (With Maryse) vs Dean Ambrose for the
International Title.
Winner: Dean Ambose (Because title changes are saved for the
camera only.)
This was a solid match for both. It started with Miz running his
mouth to get the boos really going. The Boos were so loud that I
couldn't hear him yell that he is the Miz and he is ... Dean
Ambrose music hits to cut him off and he gets a thank you
Ambrose chant cause Miz was going on for a while. One highlight
is that at one point, Miz played the crowed with out having to
say a word. He put the mic to his mouth and we booed. He put it
in front of Eden or whatever her name is that was announcing,
and we cheered. In front of himself, boos. In front of maryse,
mixed. Back to Eden Cheers. Back to Maryse, boos. Not the
biggest Miz fan, but he made it fun. Match was as good as I
would expect to see on TV.
Match 6 Tag Team Triple Threat for the Smackdown Tag titles.
American Alpha vs Breezango vs Usos.
Winners: American Alpha of course.
This Match was not as good as the opening match and I blame
breezango. I would much rather have seen Slater/Rhyno in this
match instead of Breezango. This match was a bit of a snoozer
too and hard to get into until the Usos got in. It was nice to
see them wrestle again. American Alpha got the win with their
double team finisher.
Match 7 Dolph Ziggler vs Apollo Crews.
Dead crowd for this match. Ziggler was gettng a heavy reaction
from the crowd instead of the boos he is trying to get. Crowd
was dead because Apollo barely engaged us. Ziggler carried the
match for sure. Apollo did get a decent pop for his entrance,
too bad he didn't keep the fans tuned in during the match.
Main event: WWE Championship Match
This was advertised as a triple Threat of AJ Styles vs Cena vs
Wyatt. Instead we got a 4 way dance between John Cena vs Bray
Wyatt vs Luke Harper vs Baron Corbin. Disappointing that AJ
Styles did not show. No Orton either, but since they were here
in Iowa I suspect he was vising his family in St Louis Mo.
Winner: Bray Wyatt retains because no titles change hands at
house shows
This was the second best match of the night. I liked the opener
better. Cena got a massive pop that devolved into the dueling
Cena chants eventually. Like the women's match, everyone got a
chance to shine and it was good back and forth between the faces
and the heels. Its different seeing Luke Harper play the good
guy for a change. He had a hell of a time trying for face pops
but he was getting some. There was a good stare down moment
between Harper and Wyatt and they brawled each other as Cena
went after Corbin to start the match. It took a short time for
Baron to clear the ring and dominate the other three. Harper
sent him hard into a guard rail and he responded by sending
harper hard into the ring steps. Lots of back and forth like I
said which came to the end with a low blow from Wyatt to Cena
for the three. This brought boos. Then Wyatt got on the mic said
he hated Cena, and offered to end the career of John Cena right
here tonight. He got out a table and set it up in the ring with
intentions of putting Cena through it. At the last moment Super
Cena recovered and put Wyatt (the Champ) through the table to
send us home happy. I was almost hoping for an AJ Styles
interruption, but that didn't happen. By the way, a Tito finger
of shame to wwe for Wyatt coming out first. The rest of the
champs came out last. I will say it was pretty damn amazing to
see Bray;s entrance live though.
All in all an OK show, but not the best I have ever seen. (Its
hard to beat a show with MnM vs the Hardys.)
Pop of the night. Cena, followed by Ambrose and Wyatt in a tie
and bring up third: Lucha Lucha Lucha! yep.
Biggest boo: Should have been someone in the main event Like
Corbin, but Miz owned it tonight. Close second to the Usos.
Though the Uso's did have a few peopel doing the Us... Os....
chant.
Match of the night: Slater/Rhyno vs Ascension, for me, but over
all Ambrose vs Miz.
Worst match of the night: Crews vs Ziggler. Even though I
started to doze during the women.
Merch stand: Meh, pretty dissapointing seeing as I have some of
the shirts they are still selling, plus they had like 5 cena
shirts and a couple of Raw branded shirts. (Certified G, Roman
Reigns and New Day) Didn't see any Booty Os but they did have
money in the bank breifcases. Which are cool. I ended up getting
a Bray Wyatt shirt but wish I would have chosen the Undertaker
one they had now.
Also there were a couple of dude outside the arena trying to
sell bootleg wwe shirts for $15. WWE was selling for $35 a peice
inside.
Best seller, I gotta say was probably Cena or AJ for shirts. But
the Yes! foam fingers did bank tonight. Daniel Bryan should be
happy. I did see a few kids walking around with Roman Reigns
arm cuffs too. A
Despite being slightly underwhelming. I still enjoyed myself.

Re: Live Event Results and Discussion
By: Best in the World Date: September 12, 2017, 10:27 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
On August 26 of this year I went to a house show (live event)
here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I enjoyed it. Figured I'd post
the results here in order to contribute to this site a little
bit.
WWE SmackDown Live Event in Baton Rouge, LA
Match 01
Sami Zayn def. Baron Corbin
I missed most of this match. I was too busy purchasing $90 worth
of mercy at the stand. It sounds cool but it only translates to
two AJ Styles snap backs and two shirts. That's what $90 gets
you at these events. Ridiculous. Zayn won with a Helluva Kick.
Missed like 90% of it.
Match 02
The Hype Bros def. Primo & Aiden English
Aiden English was a MASSIVE heat magnet. His performance was
honestly among my favorite parts of the show. Everyone was
booing him. The match was meh though.
Match 03
Rusev def. Sin Cara
Rusev is a BIG BOY in real life. He's quite massive. Not a bad
match, either. Sun Cara wore really cool attire. Sin Cara
tapped to the Camel Clutch.
Match 04
AJ Styles def. Kevin Owens in a Street Fight to retain the US
Title
Best match of the night (obviously). KO did a solid job of
talking trash to everyone in the River Center and AJ faced it
up. The ending saw KO powerbombed through a table. AJ Styles
gave me a two sweet after the match so I'm pretty sure that
means I'm cooler than most people in the world.
INTERMISSION
Match 05
Charlotte & Becky Lynch def. Lana & Tamina
These women are even more attractive in real life. I had seats
at ringside and I just happened to be sitting on the seat right
behind Charlotte as she waited for a tag. MY GAWD! I had the
best view in the house. Charlotte and Becky might actually be
the two most attractive humans my naked eye has ever seen! Lana
was not bad either. She danced on a chair during her entrance so
that was hot. The match was a mess though.
Match 06
The Usos def. The New Day & Breezango to retain the tag titles
This match was awesome! I went with my non-wrestling-watching
friend and he loved this match the most. It was super
entertaining. Didn't beat the AJ/KO match in my view but came
close. It's just this was more a spectacle while the US Title
match was an actual match.
MAIN EVENT
Jinder Mahal def. Shinsuke Nakamura to retain the WWE Title
I hate to say it but this match was boring. The crowd was spent
by this point and the match itself was just off and uninspired.
Also, Shinsuke seemed like he was not giving it his all out
there. His punches weren't landing half the time and he just
went with it. I know this must've been a nothing show to him but
come on, I paid near $300 for my seat. Give me the goods! Jinder
had a very boring promo before the match, it was just bad.
Shinsuke did high five me afterwards though.
I got a two sweet from AJ and one from Byron Saxton (he hosted
the show), Shinsuke gave me a high five, and Charlotte held my
hand (more like grazed it but I'll take what I can get). It was
a good night. Like I said best match was AJ/KO. Most boos was
English. Loudest cheer was Shinsuke. Most meh was Primo. Laziest
eye was Becky. And sexiest bod was Charlotte.

Re: Live Event Results and Discussion
By: Thurl Date: March 4, 2018, 11:37 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
It seems when WWE comes around, it always falls to this time of
year. I had a lot of memory posts of facebook the last week of
WWE events I have gone to. Tonight I attented another. WWE Live:
Road to Wrestlemania. (AKA Smackdown Live Show.)
This event was adervtised to start at 5pm., which is a bit
earlier than their norm of 7pm. No big deal though, I like the
idea of earlier. I got there about 4:30ish, as time got away
from me, and parking was unusually easy for cutting it so close.
I still had to wait a good 20 minutes at least to get into the
arena. This time instead of metal detector wands they had the
walk through style. A first for me. Did that and was fine.
Before taking my seat I checked the merch tables. There was a
small one when I first walked in, with the big one around the
bend in the middle of the concourse, and it was of course
packed. I checked out what they had and as usual, they had Cena
and Roman Reigns. They also had Bobby Roode, Randy Orton, AJ
Styles, the Sheild. tour, and random multi supsterstar shirts.
The only Women's division shirt I saw was Bayley. I went back to
the smaller table as it had no lines and picked up a blue P! AJ
Styles House that AJ Styles built shirt. I wanted the red P1 but
they didn't have my size. Note: the new Orton shirt is pretty
cool looking.
After that I went to find my seat, the last time I had been to
this particular arena was the last time WWE came around so I
wasn't exactly sure where I was to sit. I found an usher and
asked where I was to go, she pointed me to my seat and down I
sat and it was may 3 minutes and I feel what seems like a drip
on my elbow I look behind me and come to find out a kid two rows
up dropped his cup a soda. The guy behind me got his pants and
chair soaked and it missed me except for that one drip, though a
bit later I saw the soda running down the floor at my feet. Just
as the lights went out for the show to start a guy comes up and
says you have my seat. I said no I don and showed my ticket to
him. He showed me his. I had a riser seat and got shown to a
balcony seat in error. First for me. So I got up and found a
different usher and got to the correct seat. The kid sitting
next to me was fun to listed to all night, as he marked out for
the matches and predicted the endings. It's still real to him,
for sure.
Anyways on to the matches.
Match One: Fatal Fourway for the Smackdown Tag Titles
The New Day vs Shelton Benjamin/Chad Gable vs Rusev Day, vs Usos
Winners: Usos
I missed the beginning of this match due to the wrong seat
debacle, but it was pretty good. Rusev Day got the biggest pop
of the match and New Day were extra extra goofy too. Big E, the
Iowa native got his spot to shine in the losing effort too.
Match Two: One on One Match
Tye Dillinger vs Mojo Rowley
Winner: Mojo Rowley with help from the ropes.
I got bored partly through this match and started looking at
facebook. The crowd wasn't terribly into it. But the pops were
good for Tye. Nojo did get decent heat before the crowd got
bored too. I will say too that Mojo, entrance music is pretty
damned good. Though it outshines him a bit more than it should.
Match Three: Tag Team Match
Breezango vs Bludgeon Brothers
Winners: Bludgeon Brothers in a squash.
The Bludgeon Bothers entrance was way better live than on TV. I
think they are grooming Luke Harper and Eric Rowan to be the
next Brothers of Destruction type team since both Kane and Taker
have one foot out the door at this point, and they have had a
creative fail with Bray Wyatt. Good stuff despite the Squash.
There was a bit of backstage shenanigans with Breezango but I
blinked and missed it.
Match Four:
Jinder Mahal vs Sin Cara
Winner: Jinder Mahal, another squash
Of note: 'Lil Naitch' Charles Robinson was the ref and he would
go one to ref about every other match the rest of the night.
When he made the count out it looked and sounded like he pounded
the mat four times before calling for the bell. Felt like a ref
botch to me but the result was not affected. Sing brother did
make the usual intro for Jinder Mahal. Also of note, isnt Sin
Cara on 205Live?
Match 5: Naomi, and Becki Lynch vs Carmella and Lana vs Riot
Squad minus Ruby Riot
Winners: Naomi and Becki Lynch.
Notes: About what you would see on Smackdown Live. Not bad, but
not the best match of the night either. It was nice to see
Carmella do something for a change though.
Match Six: US Title Match
Randy Orton vs Bobby Roode.
Winner: No contest due to Jinder Mahal interference.
Notes: Orton got a huge pop and the chants were more for him
than Roode. Kid next to me was a Roode mark and was not crazy
about the interference but when Orton got to his feet and RKO'd
both Roode and Mahal to the number two mens pop of the night, he
flipped the birds to the ring. And His parents got on him for
it. Lol.
Match Seven: SD Womens Title
Charlotte Flair vs Ruby Riot Vs Natty
Winner and Still Champ, Charlotte Flair
Notes: Wasn't excited to see Natty in this match, hope that
doesn't mean she will be in the title match at Mania too.
Charlotte spent most of the match getting beat down by the other
two but mounted a comeback toward the end to retain. There was a
good moment where Charlotte tossed Natty into the waiting feet
of Ruby and Natty was driven face first into a turn buckle.
Match Eight: Standard One on One
Nakamura vs Dolph Ziggler.
Winner: Nakamura.
Notes: Damned good match. But you would expect that from these
two. Ziggler got the biggest pop from the women of the the
night. Nakamura got a big pop when he came out, but I couldn't
tell if anyone else was singing along to his theme as the music
was so loud I could barely hear myself, let alone everyone else.
Match Nine: Main event for the WWE Championionship
AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn vs Baron Corbiin.
Winner and still WWE Champion: AJ Styles of course.
Notes: Kid next to me predicted AJ losing as it was all heels vs
him and they played that for the first part of the match as
Owens and Zayn teamed up to take out everyone first. Ziggler and
Cena were the two absent of the 6 pack challenge here. It was a
decent main event and kept everyone's attention. Aj took so long
to leave that by the time they came out to say thanks for
coming, the arena had mostly already cleared out.
Two notes of the night: All the faces signed autographs as they
headed to the back, but Orton was asked to sign a Cena shirt. He
took the time to cross out Cena's face and name before signing
his on it. Good LoL there.
Also before things got going and while I was sitting in the
wrong seat, we got treated to a replaying of HBK vs Kurt Angle
at Mania match. Good stuff.
Pop of the night: Men: AJ Styles, but not by muich, Orton,
Nakamura and Rusev were right there with him. Women: Charlotte
by a landslide.
Boo of the night: Jinder mahal. enough said. No one got more
heat than he did.
Top selling shirt from what I saw in the audience: Cena. But
there were a lot of Shield shirts sold too. I saw a good bit of
Rusev shirts and I think I was the only one wearing Nakamura
tonight. I am pretty sure a couple people at least bought
Orton's new shirt too. Also, New-Days Unicorns sold very very
well tonight.
So that was it. Almost every match was a group match, hope thats
not a sign of the future.. Good show tonight.

Yes, I went to a Smackdown live event last night, I was just too
damned busy to write my usual recap/report for it last night so
here it is for all whom are interested:
The first thing of note is that we were foisted with Byron
Saxton doing all the announcing for the night. Yay. Not sure
what Dubuque IA did to be punished like that. Hoever up until 5
minutes to the first bell the stands looked very empty they
suddenly filled in allright just before the first bell. My seat,
which was the closest seat I have ever had to the ring, was
actually a bleacher not unlike what they had in my highschool.
Nothing to lean back on, and not remotely comfortable. I paid
medium price for my seat so it was not even the cheapest ones,
which is annoying. Not to mention the space between bleacher
rows was narrow enough that every time the dude sitting behind
me moved he bumped my back with something. (WWE Merch bag,
shorts pant leg etc) I guess its not WWE's fault if the venue
doesn't have comfortable seats all around. Anywho, on to the
matches...
First match: Tag Match
New Day vs The Bar
Winners: New Day
Notes: No Pancakes. I am ready for the Bar to break up as I miss
the Cesaro Section, and his nice tear away suit entrance.
Singles Match
Tye Dillinger vs Shelton Benjamin.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin
Notes: This was not as athletic as I thought it would be seeing
as Shelton Benjamin was in it, But it was my first time seeing
Shelton live so that was cool in its self. This match caused the
audience to die for a bit as no one was really into either
wrestler.
Tag Match
Rusev Dav (Rusev and English) vs Sanity
Winners: Rusev Day via DQ.
Notes: Oddly, I found myself rooting and almost marking for
Sanity. I don't watch next so this was my first time seeing them
in action. Rusev was about to make one of them tap out with the
Accolade, but the third member of Sanity interfered causing the
DQ.
Fatal Fourway for the US Title
Miz, vs Samoa Joe vs Nakamura vs Jeff Hardy(C)
Winner: Jeff Hardy.
Notes: They had a new Jeff Hardy shirt that said immune to fear.
I wanted that shirt but they didn't have it in 2X do to sell out
or not bringing enough. Jeff was good as usual. This was my
second time seeing Joe in person, I first saw him a couple years
ago in the same arena. Wrestling with Double J Jeff Jarrett for
TnA. Whose live show was 10 times better than what they had on
TV for whatever reason at the time.
Singles Match
Cien Andre Almos vs Sin Cara
Winner: Cien Andre Almos
Notes: His woman manager whose name I don't know inerupted Byron
and announced Cien. This match died harder than Benjamin vs
Dillinger. The kids in the audience were all about the Lucha
chants but got drowned out by the boos and no one paying
attention. I would call this one the piss break match of the
night.
Triple Threat Tag Team match for the SD Tag Titles
Usos vs Gallows and Anderson vs Bludgeon Brothers.
Winners: Bludgeons.
Notes: For what ever reason the Bludgeons spent the first 3 or 4
minutes standing outside the ring and watching everyone else
beat each other up. Then they came in and cleaned house and got
the win a bit later. Also it was not hammer time tonight as the
Bludgeons came out empty handed. Luke Harper did bay like he did
in the Wyatt family at one point though.
Main event of the night:
Daniel Bryan vs Big CAss
Winner: Daniel Bryan
Notes: The last time I saw Bryan live was in a cage match
against Kane. It was good stuff. This was good too. Cass got
into it and did the heel things to draw the audiences to booing
and he did good. He got on his knees at one point and did the
yes chant to mock Daniel Bryan while knee walking around the
ring.
Final Notes:
Pop of the Night: Who touches the Yes Movement these days?
Honorable mention to Joe though. Dubuque likes Samoa Joe.
Boo of the Night: It was kinda a tie between all the heels but I
think Miz gets the nod, only barely.
Match of the night was Main Eve
Worst match of the night: Cien vs Cara. It was a stinker because
no one was really into Cien.
If you didn't notice there was not a single Womens match on the
card for this evening. No idea why. I was slightly disappointed
none of the woman were there to be honest. We also got a replay
of Angle/Rousey vs Triple H/Stephanie from Mania. They were
playing WWE top ten videos leading up to the first bell and
during the intermission and they showed clips I didn't expect
featuring CM Punk, and AJ Lee, so that was cool.
Despite no women it was an ok card, nothing great outside the
main event and the triple threat tag match and the fatal fourway
was pretty good too. They were protecting the talent for MITB
and phoning it in. The only other disappointment I had is that
AJ Styles was advertised and no showed. This is the second event
I have gone too in the last four months he was advertised for
and didn't show up. Fail to AJ Styles.

So I guess my interest in WWE has waned enough that I nearly
spaced off that I bought a ticket to tonights event. My
interest was already low as I considered skipping altogether. I
compromised and bought a cheap nose bleeder seat. Not worth the
full ticket price for anything lower down or closer to the ring.
Tonight after work though, I went to my chiropractor, then got
gas, came home and started a load of laundry, wrote my rent
check and turned on the TV before I remembered I was supposed to
be somewhere tonight.
I got to the show just fine event thoough I got stuck behind
someone who wanted to drive under the speed limit. After getting
in, hitting the merch table to see whats new, (They had the
Hardy shirt this time.) I took my spot. My view was nice I could
see the floor all the way around the ring. and the whole ring
ramp. I was looking at RAW results while waiting for the show to
start when an usher spots me and tells me that I have to talk to
another usher to get a new ticket as everyone in nose bleed
section was getting moved to lower seats. I was annoyed, I
specially chose my seat as a front row seat that would not only
allow me easy escape to the restroom should I need it, but also
so that I would not be blocked by someones big head in the
middle of my view.
I get my new ticket and its main level. A seat o the floor that
was probably a good $50 more than what I had spent on my nose
bleeder seat. I guess they couldnt fill in the area around the
ring enough with sales so just decided to move people to better
seats. After getting help to figure out where exactly the new
seat would be (US Celluar Seating arrangements are a nightmare
on the lower levels. But they were a little better this time.) I
take my seat between two people who are not on the small size. I
had to squeeze my chubby self in like a sardine. In front of me
a tall kid blocking my view. Mostly. Yay. Every time the crowd
popped and stood up, I could no longer see the ring and if
action spilled out to the floor, forget it I saw nothing. Oh
well, I saw enough to enjoy the night. On to the matches.
First match: Tag Title match
The bar vs New Day (With Pancakes, which they need to stop with)
with Lil Naitch as ref. He reffed about 90% of the matches
tonight.
Winners: The Bar retained. I missed the finish because everyone
stood up.
Next: Singles match Shelton Benjamin vs Aiden English (Its Aiden
Night you know.)
Winner: Shelton Benjamin in about 90 seconds. Then Aiden demands
a rematch and the bell is rang Shelton hits his finisher and
1,2,3 over. Waste of time on the card really, but Aiden then
attacks Shelton with the help of the colons,. The Good Brothers
who are apparently faces now, (When did that happen?) Make the
save and now we have a six man match.
Shelton and Good Brothers vs Aiden and Colons.
Winners: Shelton and good Brothers with the Brothers finisher.
Good match. Crowd ate it up.
Next Womens tag match. Lana and Carmella vs IIconics. The
IIconics came out and did easy heel stuff talking smack about
the city and Lana came out and told them to Sha tup. Then
promptly quit using the accent the rest of the night.
Winners: IIconnics via tap out to Lana using the Acolade. (Lana
Crush!) a Surprisingly good match.
Charlotte comes out next and talks smack on Rousey for a bit,
then asks who is she beating tonight? Answer: Asukas theme.
(Which is awesome live b y the way.) So we get a rematch from
this years Mania in Charlotte vs Asuka. These women tore the
house down. I swear they were given a good 45 minutes(Possible
exageration, but I dont think so) and they fought the match
like it was a mania match. They went way harder then you would
ever expect for a house show. Asukas mask was so crazy tonight,
I almost thought she let Jeff Hardy paint her face.
Winner: Charlotte was ready for Asuka again, But Asuka did NOT
make it easy by any means.
At this point I have to look to my left as the woman a few sears
down is losing her mind at the ring for these matches like I
usually see small kids do. Still real to her dammit. One woman
even asked if she was ok, lol.
Next match: Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton
Winner: Randy Orton via RKO not so out of nowhere. Kinda a
surprise as I expected a face win for Hardy.Jeff looked like he
was in the best shape he has been in in a long time. No limping
or whincing or any signs that he was in any pain. It was nice to
see.
Intermission. This is when me and a guy a couple seats over
notice a puddle on the floor that neither of us could figure out
the origin of.
Next match: R-Truth, (whom since he was rocking Jorts and kicks
tonight shall be rechistened as R-Cena from here on out), vs
Cien Andrade Alma
Winner: R-Cena. Truth did get one hell of a pop. Dude is like a
modern day Roddy Piper. No big title reigns under his belt but
always is over with the crowd and getting pops and having some
of the best segments of everyone despite the lack of gold.
Next match: US Championship Triple Threat (Not sure if this was
a hint of things to come.)
Samoa Joe vs Rusev vs Nakamura
Winner: Nakamura via Kin sasha to rusev.. Because titles rarely
ever change hands at house shows. The crowd really wanted to
sing along with Nakamuras theme but the rap and stuff got in
the way of that. at some point they need to give him back the
original theme. Its still over.
Main event: Non Title match The Miz vs AJ Styles (Who I am glad
showed up this time.)
Winner: Styles of course with the Phenominal elbow. AJ did have
some fun as Miz took off his jacket, head band and glasses he
handed them to AJ to put them on on the sly behind Mizs back.
Miz turned around and was not happy with AJ who mocked Miz in
his gear. Miz for his part pressed every heel button and played
it perfectly. He has come a long ways in his career.
Worst match of the night: Shelton vs Aiden matches. Too short,
waste of Benjamins athleticism. Aiden is way over due for a new
entrance video.
Best match of the night: Asuka vs Charlotte. By a wide margin.
Biggest Pop: Tie between Charlotte, Asuka and AJ Styles. Truth
was just barely less pop then them.
Biggest boo of he night: Is it ever not the Miz?
Merch: I am not sure if anyone outsold anyone else. I think I
saw more new day shirts than not. Two of people in front of me
had Shane O Mac shirts that I did not see on the merch stand. I
saw a lot of Jeff Hardy arm bands and at least a couple Cena
shirts out there too.
