|
Note: Its ok to post in the IC thread before being | |
| ok'd for your character and assigned a show. However, limit it | |
| to trash talk only. You will not be booked until the final | |
| determination that your character is available, and you are | |
| assigned to a show. | |
| 1. Be active. The more active you are the better your chances | |
| are to get a shot at a title. This is critical if you are a | |
| title holder. We prefer not to keep titles on dead characters, | |
| or people who don’t post after they win. This does not | |
| include reserved characters. | |
| 1a. If you have multiple characters, for example 4 active | |
| wrestlers, then please use them all equally. If you use only one | |
| of your characters explicitly and never post with the other two, | |
| you will be given only one warning to start making use of all | |
| your characters, if you choose not to use them, they will be | |
| released. Sitting on "dead" characters is not allowed, nor is it | |
| fair to someone else who may make better use of them. Reserved | |
| characters as noted above are exempt from this rule. | |
| 1b. Watch the length of your posts. 15 paragraphs are about as | |
| much as anyone needs. Any longer than that, and you’re | |
| just getting too long, and too much text can have the effect of | |
| causing peoples attention to drift elsewhere. This is not an | |
| imposed limit, just a guideline. The Staff and CEOs of HCW are | |
| depending on the common sense of the players for post length. | |
| That said, please be careful, if you do happen to get posts too | |
| long, one of the staff will give you a friendly reminder to take | |
| it easy on the length. Also, CEOs and GM are exempt as they post | |
| cards, results, drafts and other things, that may require an | |
| excessive post length. | |
| 2. If you have to be away for awhile, let someone on staff know. | |
| It helps us to know if you are gone for a legit reason, and we | |
| can give a temporary reserve to your characters, or someone can | |
| cover for you until you return. If we don’t get some kind | |
| of notice that you will be gone for awhile, it is likely we will | |
| assume that you quit, and your characters will be released. | |
| 3. You are allowed 4 active wrestling characters and one non | |
| active wrestling character such as a manager or valet. You may | |
| drop characters at anytime if you wish. The CEOs and staff | |
| request that you finish out any current story lines, your | |
| characters are involved in, before changing or dropping any | |
| characters. If you decide to change or add characters at | |
| anytime, DO NOT FORGET to pm Thurl, or pat2007 to check | |
| availability, or make your request in the Character | |
| Requests/Reserved thread. Failure to do one of these two things | |
| may result in the loss of the character you want, or request | |
| denial if you use first then ask. (CEOs and GMs are exempt from | |
| this as we may need extra for interviewers, announcers, refs, | |
| Board members, etc.) Also, if a GM or CEO uses a character for | |
| announcing, interviews, refs, Board members, they are still | |
| available to be played should you choose them, and the staff | |
| will just use others. | |
| 4. Keep things on topic in either thread, going off topic will | |
| garner you a warning, and not just from HCW staff member either. | |
| The Mods are always watching, you know. | |
| 5. You are allowed to use anyone’s characters without | |
| their permission so long as you don’t make them look weak, | |
| and the use must fit the current storylines for said characters. | |
| It is however, considered a courtesy to ask the permission of | |
| the player whose character you want to use ahead of time though. | |
| That being said, do not cause injury to someone elses character | |
| that would necessitate missing shows and thereby canceling | |
| already booked matches with out the player and GM/CEO being in | |
| on the idea so it can be worked around. | |
| Please Note: If some one does not observe the | |
| courtesy of running any use of your characters by you, and it | |
| does not harm them or their story in anyway, do not use the IC | |
| thread to voice your disagreement or displeasure with the post. | |
| (IE: Posting OOC: Ignore Insert name's Post in the IC thread.) | |
| There are multiple ways between the forums and other social | |
| medias to contact the other players and discuss it or work out | |
| edits etc. OOC notes in the IC thread are reserved for Staff and | |
| CEO/GMs only. | |
| 5a. DO NOT use your characters or this game as a means to take | |
| out your frustration with someone else by destroying their | |
| characters at every turn. This is the equivalent of Flaming or | |
| pseudo flaming. Failure to adhere to his can get your characters | |
| released and your ID/IP address banned from HCW. We have a zero | |
| tolerance for this. | |
| 5b. In the event that you get banned from the forums, you get | |
| fired from HCW and your characters go up for grabs, no questions | |
| asked, unless otherwise noted by a CEO. This does not mean you | |
| will not be able to return to HCW should Thurl forgive you and | |
| let you back into HCW, but it will be a joint decision amongst | |
| the CEOs and staff (Also the forums staff) if you will be | |
| allowed back. | |
| 6. Emojis: Use them if you want, but don't make posts with all | |
| emojis. The CEO/Webmaster is old and won't try to take the time | |
| to figure out what you are saying and will likely just delete | |
| the post, or edit the offending lines out. | |
| 7. Above all else: Have Fun. | |
| The most important rules of them all are to have fun, and BE | |
| ACTIVE. The more active you are, the better chance that | |
| pat2007, and Thurl will give you shots at the titles. | |
| WARNINGS and FIRINGS | |
| The way our warning system works is a lot like baseball. You get | |
| three strikes and you’re out. | |
| For Warnings concerning Activeness, there are three stages: | |
| First, A soft warning via PM. Basically a friendly reminder to | |
| get active. | |
| Second, You will get a firm warning with an amount of time to | |
| post in before you get to the third stage. | |
| Third, Your character is terminated. | |
| WARNING SYSTEM FOR PLAYERS WHO DO NOT PRE-INFORM A MEMBER OF | |
| STAFF OF AN EXTENDED ABSENCE OR JUST DISAPPEAR: | |
| In the event that a player has dropped off the face of the earth | |
| with no warning or prior notice to a staff member, or CEO, which | |
| causes havoc in the current story lines affecting other players | |
| including Staff and CEOs, or otherwise causing problems for | |
| upcoming shows or Pay per views, this is the warning system that | |
| will go into effect. Please note that these are much stricter | |
| than the above. As noted elsewhere we have a zero tolerance for | |
| this kind of thing. | |
| Phase One: If you go without posting for a significant amount of | |
| time, it will be noticed, and you will be sent polite PMs via | |
| here or Facebook, or whatever outside social media you have made | |
| the staff aware of. (Note: We are generally nice about this so | |
| long as we get a response from you explaining things, and have | |
| been known to say take the time you need. The "unspoken" Golden | |
| rule around here is that Real Life comes first, and we | |
| respect that.) | |
| Phase Two: If those go ignored, there will be a final (and Only) | |
| warning issued via the Forums to get it in gear within a given | |
| time frame. Should that not get your attention, then.. | |
| Phase Three: Your current storylines for all your characters | |
| will be dropped at the end of the above mentioned time frame. | |
| The CEOs and GMs will make every effort to make it up to the | |
| players effected by this, other than yourself, as well as making | |
| sure any effected show or Pay per view is corrected to keep its | |
| momentum going. Depending on the severity of the effect on the | |
| game, players, and any up coming shows/Pay Per Views so too will | |
| it be a severity on the punishment received. | |
| This means that it can be anything from having your characters | |
| immediately released, and you being restricted to posting in non | |
| game play areas for an extended period of time, to having your | |
| HCW login/IP address banned temporarily or even permanently if | |
| severe enough. Each situation will have to be looked at | |
| individually and decided. (A middle ground example here would be | |
| a period of time in which all of your characters will not be | |
| allowed a single #1 Contenders match or title match for any | |
| title for an extended period of time. If you think I wouldn't | |
| actually do that, ask #HeelCarter how that one feels..) | |
| Severity will be determined upon how the game is effected as a | |
| whole. | |
| Low Severity: | |
|
| |
| [li]Does it just mess up a Collision or Fusion?[/li] | |
| [li]Is the situation easily recoverable?[/li] | |
|
| |
| Anything that can be recovered and restored easily falls in the | |
| low severity category. | |
| Medium Severity: | |
|
| |
| [li]Is the inactivity throwing off a regular Pay Per view?[/li] | |
| [li]Is the inactivity throwing off a special? (Example: The | |
| Draft, the Awards Supershow etc..)[/li]
| |
| Any situation that will require more than minimal effort to | |
| repair, but not take the effort that it would to move a | |
| mountain, would fit medium severity. | |
| High Severity: | |
|
| |
| [li]Is your inactivity stalling story lines for a GM or CEO's | |
| characters beyond repair? (Seriously, a bad idea. Just don't do | |
| it)[/li] | |
| [li]Is this throwing off a grand Pay per view? (Examples: | |
| Colliseum, Birth of Destruction. etc.)[/li] | |
| [li]Is this the first time you have disappeared?[ (Multiple | |
| times will automatically put you here.)[/li]
| |
| Any situation that will take an exceptionally high amount of | |
| effort to repair or is simply can not be recovered or repaired | |
| with out making more damages as a result, falls under the | |
| highest severity level. | |
| The above will be added into the Game Play Rules thread in the | |
| not to distant future. In the end we all know this is just a | |
| game. But its just not cool to kill the fun in this matter. Its | |
| not fair to others who are depending on you for storyline | |
| movement. Nor to the staff who has to put thing's back together | |
| in the aftermath. Not to mention holding characters unusable | |
| that more active players could and would actually use. | |
|
| |
| For warnings concerning everything else, it’s three | |
| strikes and your out. | |
| You get two firm warnings; the third time will see us terminate | |
| your character. Any exceptions will be made on an individual | |
| basis at the time of the occurrence. | |
| Any feedback you wish to make on anything listed above can be | |
| made in the feedback thread or via PM. | |
