Christmas music and musical organizations

This post is probably very close to random thoughts.
I went to a performance of Handel's Messiah last night and was
WOW'ed as usual by the skills of Apollo's Fire.
One thing struck me was that at least 5 of the musicians/singers
were also actively involve with other professional groups in the
area. We are talking about leaders/founders in several cases.
I appreciate their working together and/or Apollo's Fire, being
the largest group choosing the dates first and Quire and Les
Delice choosing others to avoid conflicts.
You see, last Thursday was when I went to the Quire concert for
their Christmas program.
How both Quire and Apollo's Fire do concerts is that they will
do the same program multiple times in a long weekend at
different venues scattered around the area. I think that the
Messiah is being performed 5 times this week. I'm not sure
about the other one because I'm not as faithful to them.

This sounds wonderful! There's nothing like a live performance
of the Messiah. :)
I used to love going to Duke to hear their Christmas concert.
Last times I went, it included Bach's Christmas Oratorio. And
treats like "In the Bleak Midwinter", "Coventry Carol" and
"Gaudete". So looking forward to hearing these again one day
soon!

That's one thing that I managed to miss in my NC years. And I
was close by living in either Chapel Hill/Carrboro or Raleigh.
My mouth is drooling.
