Thank you.

Hi Ghost -
I have made these two recipes a number of times - the photo
attachment is my recipe from the 1975 edition of the Joy of
Cooking and I've been making it since the 1970s. It has a sour
cream layer on top, not sure how you feel about that. I haven't
made it in years, but if I'm recalling correctly I think I
needed to bake mine longer than the recipe says.
The other one I have been making more recently because it is
smaller and it's just the two of us is this one -
https://www.chocolatemoosey.com/7-inch-cheesecake-recipe/#mv-creation-859-jtr
For the record, I don't do a water bath, I just bake it. And I
use different crusts depending on how I feel. I prefer the
graham cracker crust if I can get gluten free graham crackers,
otherwise I sometimes just do finally chopped or ground walnuts.
Or oat and honey granola bars.

When I do the orange chocolate cheesecake, I use a mix of sour
cream and cream cheese.

Certainly. I'll post it as soon as I can unearth it again. My
cookbook app is playing silly buggers at the moment.

In the days of eating dairy, cheesecake was my favorite dessert
and the recipe @farmgirl posted from "The Joy of Cooking" was
probably my favorite cheesecake recipe! Delicious! The sour
cream topping really adds to the richness.

Thetis, I havent had cheesecake since I realized it was dairy
causing some issues for me, but I have been ok if I take the
pills before eating much dairy. Also I switched to lactose free
milk.
Even with my daily dairy intake I am not getting the amount of
protein Ive been told I should be getting.

Moms cheesecake had a sour cream layer on top also. Its
different from the joy of cooking one, it I cant look for it
now.
