I see that one of your tiny bits is as confused about what to do
with that ball in the circle toy as one of our large adults was.

I don't see a toy, I just see a slightly unconventional cat bed.

The sister of the cat who slept on the toy was a champ at making
that ball scream around the circle. She was a quiet shy cat who
hung around the edges of the room except when she decided to
play with that thing. She made it go so fast I half way expected
sparks.

Kittens seem to love using everything as a cat bed...except the
actual cat beds.

Having a cat (previously two cats), that is spot on! Currently,
my cat is using one of my Longaberger large gathering baskets as
a bed.

On the subject of cat beds that aren't beds - Goblin (one of our
resident foster fails) made himself a blanket cave.

I LOVE Goblin. No wonder you failed at fostering him. I want to
reach through the screen and steal him.

I love him and am glad we foster failed him, but we didn't
actually fail him because he was so sweet, but because he was so
mean!
So we got Goblin and his sister, Pumpkin (an orange, so,
Halloween pack!) to try to socialize them as both were very
anti-social. We made a lot of progress with Pumpkin, but Goblin,
while he improved a little, was still pretty anti-social after
weeks and weeks. Still, we thought we had made enough progress,
but apparently when we went back for his final vet appointment,
he was a terror and I quote, "the meanest cat [they] ever saw"
and they decided he'd have to be adopted out as a barn cat. Now
being a barn cat is for the best with some cats, but he had
gotten a little friendlier with us, and hated to see the two of
them seperated, so we asked...well, can we keep him? And so we
did (and Pumpkin too!).
He actually became a huge lovebug shortly after we adopted him,
but when we 'failed' we expected he'd be a very stand-offish cat
at best. He still will get randomly bitey or swat at us, but
never very hard, and he loves pets and is even friendly with
visitors.

Goblin and Pumpkin the first day we got them, and shortly before
we failed them.
FYI their middle names are "David" and "Alexis". If you know the
reference, they very much embodied those characters. Pumpkin was
sweet but a little high-strung, and Goblin was trying very hard
to not connect with people.

OMG - so happy you were able to adopt them both!
