Bill Belichick drafted a qb and is starting him game one.
is there some reason Mack Jones is okay to start week one and
Justin Fields needs to wait?
Andy Dalton is not Brett Favre.
If you ask me I think if you are doing the opposite of what
Belichick is doing, you might be wrong.

Belichick is a good coach, and the Patriots have an offensive
line. Receivers and a running game, too. Gee, I guess that's 4
reasons.

[member=6]Queenie[/member], spouse introduced me to hockey, and
it just clicked. I LOVE the fast pace. Honestly, that's 90% of
the attraction, plus checking, watching my favorite center play
mind games with everyone, and the (fair) fighting. I'm a bit of
a stats blog follower, so while we're walking into a game,
spouse will quiz me on who the Caps are facing, etc.
Line matching should be based on stats on effectiveness in
certain zones v. particular opponents ... but not all teams and
coaches really employ those tools. The home team has last
change, so, for faceoffs, they get to choose which line to put
on the ice v. the first line or the third line. But, some old
school coaches prefer to roll lines and ignore what the opponent
is doing ::)
We got on the list for season tickets 10+ years ago on a lark,
thinking we'd regularly be giving tickets to the BIL, neiblings,
and friends. Nope! We rarely miss more than 3-4 games a season.
I grew up in a football household too, and still don't
understand the game.

Well feel free to explain stuff any time you feel the urge. I
maybe kinda just barely understand what each position player is
supposed to do. And that's only because Youngest played
lacrosse.

I was really a fan of DeShaun Watson on the field, it's kinda
mini-tragic when they are so awful off the field.

I bet the Texans are now wishing they'd caved in to his trade
request, huh?
Here's hoping he'll never play professional football again. What
a scumbag!

Queenie, I do let what I know about players' off-the-field
exploits inform how much I'll root for a player, or his team. My
dad and my brother are the same way.

@Heddy, youre in the DMV ? Or just a Caps fan from somewhere
else ?
Okay, I dont understand hockey, but I caught the bug a couple
years ago & love me some Caps.
June 2018 was a miraculously spectacular spectacle that will
live on forever & ever 🏆
(ps. I'm still in mourning over Holtby's exit: he was My Boy

Nope. You're extrapolating incorrectly, Queenie.
One thing I like about the Packers is that they tend to cut guys
loose if they get in legal trouble.
And one of the reasons why I started getting a little interested
in the NBA was watching the players come out in favor of social
justice.
It's A factor in how I choose whom to root for, but not the ONLY
factor.

[member=5]muskrat[/member], yep, DMV! At least this season. Next
summer we're relocating to a hockey waste land for a few years.
That will suck giant donkey balls on so many levels.
I had a long list of acceptable hockey franchises we could
relocate to and get partial season tickets (plus every Caps
game), but, no, spouse just had to switch back to the old job
and we're locked into one relocation option. Hmph. Fortunately,
after launching the new work team, spouse will be able to
relocate elsewhere within the region (yay, Denver!!!!)
