Classical Music fans

I went to a concert last night, and the orchestra played both
Mozart and Joseph Bologne (Chevalier de Saint Georges). I had
never heard of the second composer, who lived and worked at the
same time as Mozart.
During their lifetimes, Bologne was more popular and in at least
one piece Mozart was extremely similar.
Now we don't know much about Bologne, but you should try to find
recordings. I liked his work as much or better than what
Jeannette Sorrel chose from Mozart's work. They were delicious
as well.
Another thing, Bologne was black, and that may have been part of
his loss of popularity, especially since Napoleon brought
slavery back after the French revolution.

I thought I hadn't heard of him, until I looked him up and found
this video and recognized the first piece from the first few
notes. Beautiful piece.
