Future of this season / How would you like your FIFA 12 served?
By: Nooks Date: September 4, 2011, 4:35 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Sorry I havent been about much in the last few weeks guys, were
curently managerless at work which means im having to cover a
few management duties which means doing admin at home, the time
im sat at home doing mindless admin is usually the time im
managing the leagues! Anyway, a new manager is due to be
appointed this week so hopefully i'll be back to just helping
the kids learn.
God i bet you all dont wanna know about my worklife! Sorry!
Back to this season, PS3 Division 2 has pretty much been a non
starter which is a shame, i know a few players are on holiday
which is fair.
A few players have asked to be removed from the league due to
getting rid of FIFA 11 in time for FIFA 12, its understandable
that players will lose interest in 11 as 12 is on the horizon
and with the demo hitting within the fortnight im sure interest
will dwindle further.
This was always going to be a mini season to keep us all busy
until FIFA 12 so im not discouraged by the lack of games played
as it is a busy time of the year for us GAMERDADS ;).
I will add ALL the remaining fixtures to the dedicated FIFA
league website and will paste all the fixtures into a thread on
the forum, hopefully they will get played!
[glow=red,2,300]FIFA 12 [/glow]
^^ Check out that glow ^^
Anyways, FIFA 12 is close, a bit closer than i thought actually!
So with under 4 weeks til the new game is out it doesn't leave
alot of time for planning, especially when EA wont send me a
preview copy!!!! ::) trust me...i've asked!
So as we are a community I feel we should work together to try
and make the FIFA 12 Leagues the best in the world! If you have
any ideas for the leagues, with regards to how the leagues are
run, team selection, league structure, match completion
timescales or anything else then post it below!
Thanks for your time guys!
Andy

I have enjoyed playing in the league, this current mini league
will be my 3rd one. I have liked the random draw for which the
(4*) team is that you get which I think is the fairest way to do
it. Of course the team alocated to you is the worst one lol
which everyone says, and it takes time to get use to your new
team but thats quite enjoyable trying to get a new team how you
want them to play. Wasnt much of a problem with people dropping
out last season as most kept at it but when people do drop out
its not as enjoyable. Maybe (just a sugestion) a 10 deposit to
join the league before it starts which is kept until all games
complete at the end of the season then it is returned. Anyone
who leaves losses there deposit. Of course this would take up
one of the GDs time to sort out so might not be able to do.
Thought about maybe having prize money out of this 10 but
thought it would make it too competative and loose the fun and
the "lets have a in the league and see how i do" element.
Hopeing the new fifa will be priced around the 25 mark rather
than the overpriced 40 mark that games seem to be coming out
at.

One thing we wont do is charge members to play . GamerDads runs
on a play when you can/like policy and i think we would lose
members if there was a fee.
Not knocking your idea as this is what the thread is about :D
We will always have drop outs in ANY Gamer Night we run
especially during the summer months due to weather/holidays etc
. Even the Games industry hit a slow period during the summer
thats why you will find most big games come out in the " Winter
" season .
The Fifa Leagues have always been strong but we need your input
to make them better so tell us what you would like and maybe we
can combined ideas and make it even better .

I reckon the current format (random draw for teams) has been the
best so far. Makes it a bit more interesting having to get used
to a new team and getting away from all the ManU/Barcelona/Real
madrid wannabes.
Makes FIFA more interesting outwith the leagues as well (for me,
anyway) as it kind of drives you to play online games as "your"
team rather than the usual suspects.

[/quote]Totally agree with clash , i especially like the team
draw format .
Does anybody know whether you can "spectate" an online game in
FIFA 12 , like the old PES games on ps2?
Would be great to watch some of the latter stage cup games
semi's and finals etc , live.

I've never played in the old leagues obviously down to only
joining here on Friday just wished I found this place sooner. I
use to be a huge fifa gamer but really dropped off in the last
two years mainly down to the fact that got board of ppl quitting
all the time now here I hope to take part in these leagues&
hopefully it will revive my love for the game once again.
Have to say the random team assignment is probably the best way
to continue as it is the fairest way tbh & some of the other
leagues I ese to take part in back in 09/10 days got really good
when they went down this route.
Another thing you guys could always do is once every other
season finishes do a world cup type format were you just use
randomly assigned teams again just instead of being a soul
league all the time just mixes it up a bit....just an idea
though as they say if its not broke don't fix it :-D

One question for the community is how many would you like in the
league/s? We could have 1 big league but then we wont have the
buzz of promotion and relagation. Or a few leagues so for
example the top 2 go up bottom 2 go down and maybe 3rd and 4th
go into a play off with 2 from the league above. This would be
good as we always find towards the end of the season interest
dies a little when there is no hope of winning the league.
I personally wold like to see promotion and relegation bt again
the community decides ;D

I think this one of the toughest things to try and decide on
what is best for the league, the big league did work well but as
you said a few people lost interest as they were out of
contention. I personally enjoy the smaller leagues as you get a
little community feeling with the fellow players in your little
league. But on the flipside there's a huge community with a big
league.
Would quicker seasons be something to keep everyone engaged? say
everyone playing each other just once?

We have considered this mate and i think it depends on how
strong that respective season finishes, sometimes everyone needs
a few weeks to recover from a grueling campaign (sounds silly
but its true). We could have a seperate cup competition during
the season with the standard quality teams.
Keep the suggestions coming ;D
