Im not surprised the PSP is taking a knock, what with the
announcement of the VITA.
I was thinking of getting BF2 aswell haha! It would have been
good to go back in time and see how the game has improved.
I can see why this happens though, its common sense really. Just
glad that I dont own any of them :)

Not happy with this at all , i always thought if you bought a
game it was yours forever to play online or single player
whenever you wanted to?
folk buy online passes to play these games and EA decide to
close the servers down so the online pass is worthless , as many
of you know i picked up two copies of fifa 09 the other day
online to find the servers were cut off , ok the games only cost
49p each but if you wanted to chase some extra our fkdold
trophies then you cant.
this happened before when i bought lord of the rings only to
find the servers were took offline aswell, bought for a fiver
had to trade it in and only got 3 quid on it for a useless game.
I was gonna pick up nfs undercover again as i did enjoy that
game but thats gonna be useless aswell soon for my psp.
so fifa 11 came out last year and anyone who bought the online
pass will no doubt not be able to play it in two years from now?
what if you dont want fifa 12 or fifa 13 ? and you only want to
play a friend on fifa 11 online ? your fkd tbh
spend 39.99 on brand new game yes you get an online pass with it
but if you buy preowned say 35 quid you need the online pass
only to find your game is useless in a year or two.
how long has army of two been out? maybe a year? its a terrible
game i know but for the ones who do like it then they will soon
feel short changed when the servers go offline. EA money -
customer screwed always has and always will be the same.

None of the above have paid for online passes so I guess they
can turn the servers off when they want. It will be interesting
though when they turn a server off that did have a paid for
online pass. Saying that though, how long are they expected to
keep them open for? If people aren't using the games then they
might as well make the servers available for something else.
Phit, Army of Two mentioned above is the first one, which was
released early 2008.

I read somewhere that servers are shut down when less than 1% of
overall online users are on the servers.
Sorry guys but its business., Servers cost money to keep going.
If they are only being used by 100 people over the course of a
month then its pretty obvious they will face the chop sooner or
later. Obviously I have no idea on figures its pure speculation.
Be interesting to try and work out the math though.
On the other hand I agree it will be an interesting time when
they try and shut down a 'paid for' server. I can see someone
somewhere trying to fight that one in court.

Very true. But this is EA. The company that have just bought
PopCap for millions of dollars. So it's not like they're short
of a bob or two ;D

I can't believe Battlefield 2: MC has become so unpopulated
online that they're shutting it down.
I've always thought that when they do this they should update so
all achievements are available in local or system link. not just
online.
Here's what i can't work out though. Will Army of 2 co-op still
be available online? That doesn't use their servers, does it?
