Elite Systems, the long established UK based developer and
electronic publisher of games for portable, mobile and other
devices has announced the launch of Skool Daze - David Reidys
signature ZX Spectrum game from 1985 - as a stand-alone App
for all iOS devices.
For those of you who do not remember this Spectrum Classic, here
a video to remind you:

David Reidy (whose wife Helen was a school teacher at the time)
created Skool Daze for the ZX Spectrum in 1985. It was
originally released by Microsphere and subsequently by
Alternative Software. It is one of the Spectrum's best-loved
games. The game was hailed for breaking many of the gaming
moulds by pursuing a creative route of a childhood experience at
school.
A feature of the App (which is expected to go live on the iTunes
App Store during the weekend of 5th-6th March and is currently
offered as an in-app purchase within the ZX Spectrum: Elite
Collection apps) is the support (either at launch, or in the
first update) for TV-out on iPhone 4, 4thGeneration iPod Touch
and iPad. (Requires, separately sold, Apple TV-Out Component
Cable or Apple VGA Adapter, or 100% compatible).

Speaking about the App, Elite MD Steve Wilcox said:
The App will always be priced at 1.19 (Euro1.59, US$1.99), and
later this year, just ahead of the 30th Anniversary of its
launch, Elite will be re-launching the Sinclair ZX Spectrum; the
re-publishing of David Reidys signature game Skool Daze along
with the exploration of support for wireless keyboards is all
part of our preparation.
To find the App, just search for ZX at the iTunes App Store.
Elite Systems Ltd was incorporated in England in 1984 and is one
of Europes most long established developers and publishers of
entertainment software. Over the same weekend, Elite Systems
will be launching two other ZX Spectrum games as stand-alone
Apps for all iOS devices. Namely ...
