Robert Kubica was injured this morning at a Rally event on his |

drive up to strat. |

After Webber's injury last year mountain biking in pre-season, |
|
it must be getting close to Formula 1 teams making their drivers |
|
spend the time off doing less dangerous stuff. |
|
Kubica runs the risk of missing start of new season now, which |
|
will be a shame. |

Rallying before the start of a F1 season is a tad stupid really. |
|
It's a dangerous sport, lot more so than mountain biking anyway. |

I don't understand why they let them do it. I know they're |
|
adrenaline junkies and need the thrill, but surely they can find |
|
something else to do! |
|
They was thought earlier that he may have to have his hand |
|
amputated, but this as since been said to be avoidable, |
|
hopefully. He is however in surgery until later tonight, but |
|
they can't say how functioning his hand will be after. |
|
So, sadly, this could end not only his F1 career, but all |
|
motorsports. |
|
I really hope he makes a full recovery, was looking forward to |
|
seeing a good future from him. |

So it's now reported that it could take up to a year to gain |
|
full function in his right hand that they operated on, after |
|
being partially severed. |
|
Really hope he does make a full recovery, and preferably quicker |
|
than stated. |
