cannot read from disc error - Fifa 12 xbox 360 |

last night in the middle of a match on fifa i noticed the crowd |
|
sounds stop and seconds later I would get an error message that |
|
the disc couldn't be read and I was exited to the dashboard. |
|
this happened 5 different times, there was a period of stable |
|
game play between the 2nd and 3rd times. obviously a worrying |
|
problem as I'm not sure if it's a fault with the disc or the |
|
console. disc is obviously new, console is a pre-owned elite |
|
that I got from Game in March with a years warranty. before I've |
|
had trouble with the console not recognising discs when put into |
|
the tray but that hasn't happened for a months now. last night I |
|
could hear the disc stop spinning/being read and then the error |
|
message came up, although in the background I could see the game |
|
continuing, strange. |
|
any thoughts on whether the problem would be the disc or |
|
console? I was told to install the game to the HDD so I've done |
|
that and it's working fine so far |

I had the same thing a while ago, turnt out to be the console. |
|
I now install every game i get to the HDD. |
|
If it's still under warrenty, i'd pop in and mention it to them, |
|
they might suggest returning it for a different one. |

I would also suggest installing the game. I dont install myself |
|
(only have a 20gig old style one) but on occasion it does find |
|
it difficult to read disks. I vaguely recall reading that the |
|
older ones can have problems reading the disks. |
