Race Report

Eh that race was pretty much awful for me, not happy with my
performance at all.
Q: 4th in the restarted qualifying I did a fair job of putting a
good lap time in so I quit and waited for the times to unfold,
pushed me down to 4th.
R: 5th, was able to race supanash down to turn 1 but we made
light contact and I lost about 5 positions. I spent the lap
trying to regain everything I had lost making some sweet passes
on Gazza and Macca. On lap 2 I started to fall apart just
tapping curbs and losing complete control of the car, and the
next few laps I was just getting it all wrong just skidding out
like nobody's business. I finally hunkered down and put my head
in the game and started driving better, catching up to Ben and
not being able to find a way past. I took a few looks down the
inside but nothing ever really stuck, and then I finally got by
him on L9 when he went wide at T9. I began to drive away from
him at this point chipping down Macca's time, and I pitted on
L14 for fresh rubber.
When I came out I was side by side in T1 with Striker and when
we got around the loop he lost it and punted me right into the
grass and that let Ben back through again. Striker did wait for
me as we continued down the track and now I find myself right
behind Ben again. I got underneath him at the last blind right
hander before the 2nd straightaway. I got in a little too hot
and sailed right into the grass on the outside. I got back on
and drove in pursuit of Cam who was the next car up the road. I
beat Supanash in his pitstop rotation and wound up racing in
4th, and I set a fast lap on that same lap. I completely lost it
in that esses T12/13 and beached it right in the gravel on the
outside of the track and this let Nashy through again. The next
6-7 laps the gap never really changed; fluctuated between 3-5
sec and then Paul's lagging car ultimately ruined everything
when I smashed him from the side and damaged my front wing,
bummer.
Brought the car home in 5th 9sec behind Nashy. The race was
definitely not my best and I really should've concentrated a bit
more and kept my head in the game and I wouldn't have made so
many errors I think.
Now as for the recording, it turns out my phone died halfway
through the 2nd clip so all you're going to see is the first 10
minutes of the race.
I will get that uploaded in a few moments and put it up for you
guys to check out.
I won't be at next week's race in China so good luck to
everyone, especially my Teammate :)

Q: 1st & 3rd ::) Second stint took me a while to get a clean
lap :'( Wasn't happy with my lap & would of done another had I
known others were doing more than 1!
R: 1st ;D Was shitting bricks as I had only done one race
previously in the wet with no TC. So took it real careful to
start with & tried to slowly increase my pace. Was following Cam
in 2nd for the 1st stages of the race & overtook him when he
spun at the exit of T1 :o Managed to keep him a second behind
for the middle stages of the race & then there was some hard
fought fighting for the final stages & was behind on the last
lap but Cam went into the uphill left hander to deep & I managed
to get through cleanly on the inside 8)
Easily the best race I've ever had. Hardly made a mistake
except for a few minor lockups. Recommend watching Cam's race
edit ;)
Paul what are you doing mate? ??? Almost ruined my race &
everyone else too >:( Off the racing line when your being
lapped thanks ;)

@ Drew - You're probably the only person in the world that can
race that good with no assists in the wet using a controller
with that driving view too :o :D

Q - 1
Had a terrible first qualifying session and was sitting 5th on
primes. Just couldn't put in a decent lap. I was still confident
of challenging for the win in the race though. I have very good
pace round KL - in the dry! In the quali re-run I went out on
options as I could see it was a wet race. Decent lap for pole.
However, I wasn't very confident about the race, having done
hardly any wet races, and with no proper wet setup
R - 4
Bad start. Livo and Cam got through. Having read drew's report,
it looks like there was contact with him which spun him out. I
didn't know much about it though.
Was very cautious for the opening laps but was hanging on to the
leaders ok. Macca was catching me, but as I got a bit more
confident with the conditions I started increasing the gap to
Macca and closing a bit on the leaders, who were battling each
other. I closed right up behind Cam at one point after he made a
mistake, but didn't go for the overtake. Was still feeling my
way a bit at that stage.
It was all going ok. I was starting to lap pretty well and
thought I had a chance of catching the leaders, or at least
getting a comfortable 3rd place. Then it all started going wrong
with Paul. It took me a while to realise he was lagging. At
first I thought he was deliberately ruining my race! Smacked
into him at turn 3 when his car stopped right in front of me.
Damaged my wing and allowed Macca to close up. Macca made a
mistake soon after which gave me some breathing space again. I
then made a similar mistake which allowed him to close back up,
and he overtook me down the pit straight. I was still in good
shape and felt I could get 3rd place back. Then I got done by
the lagging Paul again. Macca pulled over to the right going
into a corner. I was a bit confused by that, but I soon realised
why. Paul again appeared to be stopped on the racing line and I
smacked into him losing my wing altogether. Had to do half the
lap with no wing and pit. Cost me a load of time and meant I was
behind drew when I came out of the pits. Fortunately for me,
drew made a mistake soon after, so I got back up into 4th. Drove
pretty well after that, and I think my fastest lap wasn't far
off the best. I had many more incidents with Paul, having to
continually overtake him. I've never seen lag as bad as that.
The worst thing is that it wasn't obvious he was lagging. The
car wasn't dancing around. It was pretty stable on the road and
then just stopped. I just couldn't cope with it!
I'm a bit disappointed with 4th, but I suppose it's not bad for
a wet race which I was really worried about. I definitely
fancied my chances in the dry though. I do feel a bit hard done
by to have lost my wing through lag. The car was pretty much
undriveable in the wet, getting back to the pits.

q 2nd - i went out and was super slow and went back in and
checked i hadnt loaded my setup oh **** lol, went back out and
good enough time to finish 2nd in between supa and livo
r - 2nd i will say this is the race i should have won, i feel
like perez at the moment, copyied his race to a tee! lol i also
set f/lap on lap 25/26
i started well and shot through to take 1st by t1 then i just
pushed on pretty steadily for the 1st 4 laps once i realised i
had a good car i put my foot down and by lap 9 i had put a 6 sec
gap on livo.(i have never done a wet race in this game im
shocked at the pace i showed, i always thought i was well below
par as far as wet goes) lap 10 i lock up and shoot thru t1
allowing livo to catch me and all that hard work lost, i pull
away again gettin back into focus and then on lap 12 i pushed to
hard on the kerb art T2 allowing livo thru and gaining a 5 sec
lead, i then play catch up again for the whole race, he pitted
lap 14 and i thought i would follow.
last stint i put together 10 good laps and caught livo when he
was making his way thru the back markers, i follow him tight for
the last 4 laps, we trade places a few times and i finally make
it stick on lap 27, lead into the last lap pull enough gap to
take the win but then make a crucial error and miss goin down a
gear and run wide onto the grass on the slow up hill bit, livo
takes the lead i follow along in disapointment and on the back
str8 i ran out of fuel so he would have got me any way haha, so
now this is 2 in a row ive been dudded last lap!!!! lol :'( :'(
:'( ;) ;) ill get there.
video up soon,
also was one of the more fun races ive had!! by far the best and
cleanest wet battles actually prolly the best online battle ive
ever had with someone, cheers livo, im glad it wasnt me this
week ruining someones race with lag!

@ Supanash - Will give you a re-match in the dry if were both
online later in the week. Maybe with Cam too. I think it would
be close between us & Moss too!
@Cam - I feel for you buddy, you were definitely quicker than me
in the wet. I went red for fuel on the last lap but managed it
after I got by you.
