there has been some spam viruses going round lately, i recieved |
|
one from someone who is a trusted admin on another server, they |
|
can come from anyone who has gotten the virus, and will give you |
|
a link with any which reason, the reason from the admin who sent |
|
me the link was saying "look at these new forum colours etc and |
|
tell me which one you like, once you click the link it for some |
|
reason requires you to log in-DO NOT LOG IN, it is not the real |
|
steam site and will take your username and password, then giving |
|
them to a scammer who will strip your account of anything |
|
valueable, e.g tf2 unusuals! |
|
the easiest way to know if you are on the steam website is, #1 |
|
the web adress, and #2 if it is the real site the adress bar on |
|
the login page will have a lock symbol on it and will be a |
|
completely green url bar, and no, i did not get the virus! |

Also, if you do happen to be caught by a scam like this one, |
|
remember that the friend who sent it usually isn't the scammer, |
|
but another victim |

well clearly it isnt the user that is actually scamming you :P, |
|
also another way to tell is almost instantly once they have sent |
|
the message the account will logg off |

Isn't there a password safe thing that stops you logging in from |
|
another computer. It says get the password from your "Email |
|
Address." Would that not stop them if they can't get to your |
|
email?! |
