| Just curious why there is a rule about spy crabbing: | |
|
5. No spy-crabbing (tf2) without a Admin/Trusted MM | |
| (Middle Man).
| |
| > Is it deemed a form of griefing? | |
| > Why is it better doing it with an Admin/MM? | |
| > How do you even spy crab with an Admin/MM?? | |

| No, spycrabbing is not deemed a form of griefing. I don't even | |
| know why you would think that? | |
| The reason that an admin/MM is nessacary is because spycrabbing | |
| is a form of gambling. If there is nobody to ensure that the | |
| winner gets their winnings, then people don't always pay up. | |
| When there is an admin involved, the admin holds both parties | |
| items/stake and gives them to the winner at the end. There is | |
| nothing stopping you spycrabbing without an admin, but if you | |
| choose to do that, you do it at your own risk of not getting | |
| your winnings and i shouldn't think that any admins will go out | |
| of their way to help you get them. | |
| Hope this covered your question. If not, feel free to ask more. | |

| Cool, thanks for the answer. I don't go on trade servers so | |
| wasn't aware of the gambling. I was thinking griefing/trolling | |
| when your in normal games and half your team isn't pushing the | |
| cart cause theyre too busy walking like crabs. | |
| As you say, if you want to gambel without somebody holding the | |
| stakes, then you need to live with the risk of the other person | |
| reneging. I don't see why there needs to be a rule about that. | |
| Take responsibility for your own risk! | |
| Anyhow, I suggest modifying the rule to say "spy crab taunt | |
| gambling" to make it clear that it's okay to walk around as spy | |
| crab in normal games. | |

| Well, sure, but I argue that the vast majority of players (i.e. | |
| those who don't go on trade servers) would think spy crabbing is | |
| the original "walking around with your disguise kit out". An | |
| ambiguous rule is a bad rule. | |
