| I was seeing a new therapist more so about depression and | |
| anxiety than my ed. I did that because a lot of therapists won't | |
| treat EDs and I couldn't afford to see a specialist. So I told | |
| her about my ed issues and that I didn't really wanna focus on | |
| it so I could continue to receive the treatment I needed for | |
| depression and anxiety. and she said "well you aren't skinny so | |
| we won't worry about that right now" | |
| Can't wait to show up at her office when I reach my goal weight. | |

| Omg I can't believe that!!! | |
| I've def had two that didn't take me seriously for my ED either | |
| basically acting like it didn't exist. Current one told me she | |
| isn't worried about weighing me unless I look like I'm too thin | |
| :) | |

| Last therapist before this one; | |
| Is a well known Ed therapist in my area, young but established. | |
| Worked out of her house. I did like her. | |
| Eventually stopped answering my texts, would take weeks to get | |
| back to me and to schedule me. When I first started seeing her | |
| she told me she only worked 3 days but since it was out of her | |
| home if one week if one of her days on didn't work she would | |
| work a day off. | |
| That never happened, she would literally schedule me a month out | |
| just to cancel. | |
| Last straw was when we made an appt and I showed up (at her | |
| house) and was locked out and I texted her and she said that she | |
| thought she texted me saying her daughter was sick so she | |
| couldn't see me..... | |
| Bye bitch | |

| This isn't a story of a therapy nightmare, but I wanted to | |
| encourage you guys to not completely give up on therapy if you | |
| have had a bad experience. It can take some trial and error | |
| before you find the right therapist for you. I went to two | |
| others before going to my current therapist, and even though | |
| there was nothing horrible about my first two therapy | |
| experiences, I just didn't click well with the people I was | |
| seeing and I didn't really benefit from going, so I felt like | |
| therapy in general was pointless. But I really responded well to | |
| my third and current therapist and I love going to her for | |
| therapy. Once you find the right person to go to and talk with | |
| therapy can be a really useful tool, even if it's only for | |
| someone to talk to. So if you haven't had much luck with therapy | |
| yet, please don't just give up on it. It's true that therapy | |
| might not be for everyone, but sometimes the reason it hasn't | |
| been beneficial is simply because the chemistry between | |
| therapist and client isn't right. Just try and keep an open mind | |
| guys and be patient! | |

| Honestly don't have anything bad to say about my therapist. But | |
| it took me over a year to find the perfect fit and perfect place | |
| to go. I am in love with my therapist now and she's helped me | |
| through really bad times. But I am not a fan of my psychiatrist | |
| and am looking to seeing the one at the therapy place I go to | |
