Never liked rap.
Terrible, angry stuff.
If I had to say though, I would say I'm more west coast, as in
I like 80s pop from the west coast.
But here is my go-to feel good song, west coast band
(California): The Go-gos.
Interesting fact: 1st all-girl group who wrote, produced and
performed their own music with no male over-site/control.
And this is their 1st hit, which makes it sort of a feminist
anthem, but I won't hold that against it.
When it came out (1982) I was in college, hating my life, with a
girl I came to detest in a dead end relationship in an
apartment and I would drive around town in my 1971 Plymouth Road
Runner and pickup different girls at any and every opportunity.
And I mean a lot.
I remember summer, 1983, and girls I met in bars, 2 in one
night, and then I went home and did it with my live-in
girlfriend Angie.
And that happened twice that I can distinctly remember.
Basically, I was a very, very bad boy.
But you have to remember, it was the 80s.
