Hearing aid, should it be provided or wait for request |

I have struggled to find a reason why this should not be |
|
provided by the practitioner. It is a requirement by law and |
|
also serves good customer practice. |
|
I am in private practice and feel very strongly that I will |
|
provide this service, I have found a portable loop system for |
|
�130.00 approximately and it does not require any adjustments to |
|
the room. |
|
If a disabled client needs to ask if this is available then I am |
|
breaking the law and could face a fine because I am providing |
|
and selling a service and product. It is my responsibility to |
|
do this, there is no question. |

I can see your point. |
|
In 4 years I've had my private practice, it hasn't come up yet |
|
but that's not a good reason not to have it. I guess it's never |
|
been high on my agenda of expenses/purchases as other things |
|
always took a precedence (updating website, CPD courses etc.) |
|
but since it is a business expense, I don't see a reason not to |
|
get it. |

I think so to, it is something that the charity I work for do |
|
not seem to be doing. I am going to investigate it more and |
|
find out what they may be doing behind the scenes. We in the |
|
Private Practice sector could show them what needs to be |
|
happening! |
