Hearing aid, should it be provided or wait for request

I have struggled to find a reason why this should not be
provided by the practitioner. It is a requirement by law and
also serves good customer practice.
I am in private practice and feel very strongly that I will
provide this service, I have found a portable loop system for
130.00 approximately and it does not require any adjustments to
the room.
If a disabled client needs to ask if this is available then I am
breaking the law and could face a fine because I am providing
and selling a service and product. It is my responsibility to
do this, there is no question.

I can see your point.
In 4 years I've had my private practice, it hasn't come up yet
but that's not a good reason not to have it. I guess it's never
been high on my agenda of expenses/purchases as other things
always took a precedence (updating website, CPD courses etc.)
but since it is a business expense, I don't see a reason not to
get it.

I think so to, it is something that the charity I work for do
not seem to be doing. I am going to investigate it more and
find out what they may be doing behind the scenes. We in the
Private Practice sector could show them what needs to be
happening!
