Hey everyone! Hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season. |
|
So this will be kind of a bittersweet post, and it's been a long |
|
time coming. |
|
Long story short, my life kind of did a 180 in 2019... there's |
|
been a ton of things all happening at once in my personal life, |
|
and so I've had to focus on those things and my own mental |
|
health. Due to this, editing has really been thrown on the back |
|
burner, and I've now gone over 4 months without editing (which |
|
is a lot for me, lol). |
|
I'm wanting to tip toe back into editing and have been trying |
|
for some time, but things need to change if I'm going to keep |
|
editing. I want to focus on my vlog channel edits, as I never |
|
prioritize it but want to moving forward. That is how I |
|
scrapbook my life! I also want to focus more on personal |
|
projects and overall bettering myself as an editor, learning |
|
other programs, etc- as I hope to one day edit for a living- in |
|
some capacity. |
|
For the past 6 years or so, I have prioritized MEP editing and |
|
have completely dedicated almost all of my edits into MEPs. |
|
Moving forward I am going to minimize being in MEPs greatly, and |
|
also leave all studios except for mine (DGS). Honestly MEPs are |
|
kind of all I know anymore, and I feel like I need to rediscover |
|
myself as an editor and what I want to make. |
|
I'm not done editing entirely, but the amount of time spent with |
|
the editing world and how I go about it needs to change moving |
|
forward. This was a sad conclusion for me to come to, but I feel |
|
it's best for my mental health, and I think it'll be a good |
|
thing in the long run. So I will be officially leaving this |
|
studio as of today; however due to the laid back nature of the |
|
studio, I may pop my head in after some time and participate in |
|
a couple of things here and there :) (I already talked to Liv |
|
about this and she's totally cool with it). I want to thank you |
|
for everything this studio has given me, including the amazing |
|
projects I participated in and the new friends made. I wish the |
|
best for this group, and wish you an amazing 2020! |
