Deaths from Measles Drops but Cases Surge in 2024 - WHO Report |

|
SUMMARY - The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a |
|
report stating that, for the year 2024, 59 million lives were |
|
saved from measles because of vaccination campaigns since the |
|
year 2000. 95,000 people, mostly children under the age of 5, |
|
died from the disease in 2024. Worldwide infections surged to |
|
nearly 11 million which is 8 million more than from pre-pandemic |
|
levels in 2019. |
