Drought exacerbates rice-destroying pests in Indonesia |

SUMMARY - Drought has exacerbated the spread and infestation of |
|
the brown planthopper insect, with hundreds of hectares (NOTE: A |
|
square piece of land that is 100 meters on each side) of rice |
|
fields damaged in the country of Indonesia. Areas most affected |
|
by the damage are in East Java province (NOTE: A province in |
|
Indonesia is the equivalent of a state in the United States). |
