SUMMARY - Chinese authorities urge the public to take |
|
precautions as cases for the Chikungunya virus now exceeds 4,000 |
|
in the city of Foshan, located in Guangdong province. Other |
|
cities in the province are also experiencing cases of the virus, |
|
including Guangzhou, Yangjiang, and Zhanjiang. This year's |
|
outbreak is considered significantly larger than prior years due |
|
to the weather and the specific virus strain which spreads more |
|
easily. Chikungunya is spread through mosquitoes. |
