..NC is in my neck of the woods. Living amongst these
demographics , illnesses comes to no surprise to me as I live
somewhat in the tight-net Bible Belt of a mountain town that
also sports a university and tourists and people that live here
half the year from Florida plus a lot older people retire
here... and on top of all that we got hit by Hurricane Helene(it
displaced people and brought people more together in gatherings
for hurricane relief) and so its no surprise at all as I would
agree as the article says "Tuberculosis is often spread through
coughing and singing and can spread in big indoor group
gatherings like workplaces, arenas and churches".
The article also states:
"Part of the rise is a product of the COVID-19 pandemic".
&"We do think the COVID period impacted our rates because, in
general, there was a reduction in people's ability to access
preventative services," Turner said.
Masked Man would take it a step further noting that people are
nice here too nice and they flock together as a community
...very trusting and helpful to one another totally selflessly
yet unmindful of contagious diseases... none of my neighbor's or
nearby facilities show they are very safe or mask oriented not
to mention Masked Man suspects covid is also in the area and
covid reduces immunity system as well creating for more
illnesses anyway.
Then the article goes on to say:
"Turner stressed the tuberculosis vaccine doesn't offer much
protection for adult, and there is no need to seek one out.
"In the United States we do not routinely vaccinate for
tuberculosis," he said".
Masked Man says if all that Turner says is true in that case,
MASK UP.. It's the best chance and sounds like the only chance.
Its the one thing Turner could have suggested since he offers no
other advice anyway as to how one can protect themselves against
TB.
Another thing to note is that in this article there is no
mention of anything that can help prevent TB from spreading to
those that might come into contact with a TB victom.. in other
words no advice to doctors or nurses nor to family people who
must care for TB victims to not breathe tuberculosis in other
words the article pretty much says there is nothing one can do:
The article doesn't even suggest to not breathe tuberculosis in
by wearing a mask with a filter around patients and victims.
They can't even use the vaccine excuse for not wearing a mask
when it comes to tuberculosis. Its hard to imagine but there are
apparently a whole lot of unrealistic people with limited if any
experience with tuberculosis totally out of line and totally out
of their league that seem to erroneously think it's okay to go
into the same room and breathe in the germs of a person with
tuberculosis.
Sorry but to ignore the practical and life saving pragmatic use
of safety masks while in the presence of a tuberculosis patient
or a loved one with Tuberculosis is about dumb as dumb can get.
Anyway that's my comment since I actually live in NC close to
these aforementioned counties. I also live with a 78 year old
whom I protect and we Mask and enjoy our relative good health
and our lives because of our precautions.
Be on the safe side wear a mask around airborne diseases,
Don't be an amateur,
The Masked Man
