Here is a follow-up to the above reddit post. The article has |
|
more details concerning the 13-year old in Canada that |
|
contracted H5N1. Of note is that she did completely recover, |
|
that the exact strain was the D1.1 strain of the H5N1 HPAI virus |
|
and "that the viral load remained consistently higher in her |
|
lower lungs than in her upper respiratory tract, which suggests |
|
potential gaps in current diagnostic testing methods." |
