Staphylococcus aureus - Japan - 2024 events |

SUMMARY - Eel contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus has killed |
|
one person and sickened over 150 other people in Japan. The eel |
|
was sold by Nihonbashi Unagi Isesada, a popular eel |
|
establishment at the Keikyu department store in the city of |
|
Yokohama. An investigation has revealed food safety violations, |
|
such as employees not wearing gloves when preparing the meals |
|
and wrongly labeled expiration dates. |
