| Canadian study with ferrets suggest U.S. HPAI strain not well ad | |

| SUMMARY - The strain of HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) | |
| that is presently circulating amongst cow herds in the United | |
| States is presently not well adapted to transmit itself through | |
| the air, according to researchers from the country of Canada who | |
| purposely infected ferrets in order to test the transmission | |
| abilities of the virus. Only one out of four ferrets, isolated | |
| from contact with known infected ferrets, developed antibodies | |
| to the virus. | |
