SUMMARY - The strain of HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza)
that is presently circulating amongst cow herds in the United
States is presently not well adapted to transmit itself through
the air, according to researchers from the country of Canada who
purposely infected ferrets in order to test the transmission
abilities of the virus. Only one out of four ferrets, isolated
from contact with known infected ferrets, developed antibodies
to the virus.
