Dengue Fever - Argentina - 2024 outbreak |

SUMMARY - The country of Argentina is experiencing the "largest |
|
[Dengue Fever] outbreak" according to a director at the Malbran |
|
Institute, an organization tasked with developing medical and |
|
scientific policy in Argentina. Over 120,000 cases have been |
|
recorded so far, with 76 known deaths. In the first ten calendar |
|
weeks of this year, there have been ten times the number of |
|
cases compared to last year. Most cases occur between February |
|
and May which is Argentina's summer because it is in the |
|
southern hemisphere. |

SUMMARY - The dengue fever outbreak in Argentina has become so |
|
severe that the country is running out of a normally common |
|
item: Mosquito repellent. Also, the 2024 outbreak for dengue |
|
fever has been updated to 180,500 cases and 129 deaths. |
