| Jackshafts and layshafts | |

| Morning team | |
| Could someone talk to me about jackshafts or layshafts please? | |
| I'd like to use a jackshaft on the next build to give me options | |
| on gearing. I'm running 420 chain. | |
| These are my questions: | |
| 1. What size jackshaft should I use? | |
| 2. Can I buy these off the shelf? | |
| 3. I was thinking of using a 10t (TAV) to 30t (jackshaft), then | |
| 10t (jackshaft) to 35t on the axle...am I on the right track for | |
| a good final ratio of about 1:10 ish? | |
| 4. Does anybody have any suggestions as to where I can buy the | |
| sprockets, as I want to make sure I'm getting the right gear? | |
| No pun intended. | |
| Any help will be greatly appreciated. | |
| Thank you in advance. | |
| Tim | |
