| 18lb up rated valve springs to fit (Lifan 212cc engine) | |
| By: Scotty Date: September 11, 2025, 4:08 pm | |

| I am looking to up rated the valve springs for my Lifan 212cc | |
| engine. Now I dont know if this engine (Lifan 212cc) is the | |
| same spec as other cloned Honda GX200 but what I have read to | |
| date recommends that one DOES NOT use Honda uprated valve | |
| springs as they are oversized for the cloned engines. | |
| Can anyone point me in the right direction as to:- | |
| 1) what springs to use and | |
| 2) where to source them. | |

| Scotty, try GX tuning for valve springs. Is your 212 a hemi | |
| head? I don't think the springs are the same as the standard | |
| head and hemi tuning stuff is difficult to get in the uk. | |

| I have this Lifan engine in the three wheeler Scotty... | |
| https://westbankwholesale.com/product/6-5hp-lifan-petrol-engine-replaces-honda-… | |
| I upgraded the springs with these... | |
| https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323822196039 | |
| Which were originally listed as GX140/160/200 18Lb valve springs | |
| The Valves on my Lifan are retained by collets, not the pressed | |
| steel retainer you find in most engines and were a pig to change | |
| without losing the tiny retainers. | |
| Might be worth a punt for 6 | |

| Thanks to Jim & Jim R for the information, I will approach both. | |
| As you know gents one can never have enough bits or options | |
| to hand for that just in case or I did put it down somewhere | |
| moment, especially now that Jim R tells me the springs are held | |
| in with collets. | |

| Hi Scotty, try GX Tuning. They sell modified Lifan engines, so | |
| can advise whether their 18lbs" springs fit OK. | |

| Ian, thank you very much for the information. As I have said to | |
| Jim and Jim R, I think I will go with every option going as one | |
| can never have enough spares or options. | |
