Hi Samuel, your now added to the list ;D
Hi Scotty, I have heard nothing from Shuttleworth so far.
There is currently a big event there, so I am hoping I will
receive information once that has been dealt with. They only
seem to deal with one event at a time, as most of the admin is
done by volunteers. Furthermore, please be aware that last year
we had a 15 minute slot on the airfield "racetrack". It is
simply a drag race along the runway, then a low speed loop back
round to the start. In essence you only get about three runs.
However, if one breaks down and it is red flagged there may only
be time for one run! We run at the end just before the airshow,
so theres no time to extend our session. In other words, you
could be coming a very long way for minimal action.

Thanks everyone for your patience with this event. August has
come and gone, with no contact from Shuttleworth. Therefore, as
from Monday I am now trying to make contact with the relevant
person at Shuttleworth. As well as the email to his personal
email at Shuttleworth, today I have followed up with a chat to
Shuttleworth reception and then (on their advice) forwarding the
email to their enquiries and events email addresses.
Hopefully, I will receive a response soon (the same thing
happened last year, so its not unusual), but be prepared for
some hasty admin!

Hi again, so after emailing Shuttleworth on Monday, then sending
further emails to addresses given by Shuttleworth reception, I
recieved an automated reply saying my email had been received
and would be responded to ASAP.
Nothing has been heard and its now Sunday night. Consequently,
this event is now formally cancelled. Apologies to everyone,
who (like myself) was looking forward to this event. :'(
There is a possibility that the SW Region may be able to put on
a replacement event, so please keep an eye on the Forum for
details ;D

Hi Iain, pity to cancel this event, My mate Graham and I are
attending in an aviation capacity( we are also CKGB members),
Graham knows the organiser,
Please try this email- [email protected], as you say
they are all volunteers and don't always reply quickly, but if
they said yes initially that usually means yes.
Hope I'm not interfering with you plans, just trying to help
PS we are building a Alpha Romeo P3
Kind Regards
Duncan and Graham

Thanks for the info, its getting very late to arrange, permit,
insurance, regs etc. and I have already tried three "good" email
addresses. Sometimes, it just becomes too difficult! We also
have no idea what the restrictions would have been on us this
year. Furthermore, it was clashing with another potential event
(with no restrictions), so the focus is now on that event and
details should appear soon.
However, thanks very much for your input and recommendation, its
greatly appreciated, and hope you have a great day at
Shuttleworth.
