| According to the build guidelines it states 48v 3000 to 5000w. | |

| The club currently does not have much knowledge or experience of | |
| electric motivation and the hazards/risks arising from them. | |
| Consequently, the Handbook currently only has limited | |
| information regarding them. Therefore, builders of electric | |
| cyclekarts need to keep the club informed of their intentions | |
| and the research/information they have found. At some point the | |
| Handbook will be amended, so subsequently some aspects of the | |
| electric cyclekarts may require changing to comply with the | |
| Handbook (just because the Handbook doesn't currently stipulate | |
| something, doesn't mean that everything not mentioned is | |
| allowed). | |

| The American folk who have done this and with success suggest | |
| that 3Kw and 48 volts is a comparable unit. They tried 5Kw and | |
| decided that is was too much. | |

| Hi Ian, anyone considering building an electric kart should look | |
| at fireisolator.com. | |
| We have a BMW Dealership near me with an E V in the car park | |
| that has been burning for the last few days, they cannot | |
| extinguish it. | |
| Cheers Nick | |

| Thanks Nick, there's a lot to consider with electric cyclekarts | |
| and we don't have much experience. This is why I want builders | |
| of electric cyclekarts to be aware that their inclusion will be | |
| subject to amendments to the Handbook. | |
