Thinking to Hire iOS Developer
By: bpayne00 Date: September 2, 2013, 11:44 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone!
This is just a suggestion (but is of importance since it
involves either the future or futility of this app): because the
scope of this app (in terms of a project) has gone far beyond
what I was initially expecting (and, in all honesty, my
capabilities as a programmer), I feel it would be best for me to
step aside as lead developer and hire a more
professional/seasoned iOS developer to work on our project.
This doesn't mean I'm leaving or anything, it just means this
project is too large-scale for a single, self-taught programmer
with limited knowledge (like myself) to even hope to get done in
a timely fashion (i.e. within a year or 2).
Questions/Comments/Concerns?

I've mostly just been looking at Google's results for "iOS
developer for hire"-found several sites that are offering
corporate-level professionals, but I think that's going a little
too far (they actually wanted to know things like our company
name, # of employees, what we were looking for as far as skills
and jobs, etc.)
(and yes, I'd be paying for them as soon as I get the
money-there's some that are "pay only if satisfied", though,
which might not be a bad idea)

Well we aren't that big of a company no really sure if you would
call us a company. My dad knows programming , do you personally
know someone who programs.

No-only people I know are my college classmates that worked with
me on our project...and I don't think they liked it enough to
want to get too far into it (unfortunately-they'd be great to
work with on this project!)

Well, I've had a lot of programming offers (Java, C#, HTML)-only
had one that was iOS-specific but it was out-of-state and I'm
not able to travel just yet. I'm honestly not looking for a
programming position (despite my major being programming)-I'd
prefer more of an IT support/administrator position
Finding a job in iOS development isn't a bad idea, though, since
I could get real-world experience...the problem is finding one
that's in-state (and preferably even in-city).

But if you hire a programmer, you should also think about
solutions in order not to waste more money that you could earn
from the app... For example, this could cost 99 cents, or do
some compulsory in-app purchase...

Yes, we're going to have in-app purchases (similar to what
Geomon had).
