Fire
By: Colin Date: August 1, 2012, 5:25 am
---------------------------------------------------------
God makes his ministers fire and his angels spirit. The
apostles and the first saved saw as cloven tongues like as fire.
To do good to your enemy is fire to the enemy. When satan cast
his fiery darts at you , doing good is like casting a fire of
coals on his head. The fires are adversity. Adverse teachings to
each other. God's anger is kindled like fire. Jesus said he came
to set fire to the earth. Does this not mean he started his
ministries and the words spoken the tongues of fire. Things are
separated like the wheat and the chafe and the things of no
value cast into the fires. The priest did their burnt offerings
and the good would rise and the bad let as ashes to be cast
outside. Babylon is burning, this is saying to me the world and
church will be tried by the adverse teachings. In the teaching
of Lazarus who ended up in the bosom of Abraham, the priest,
his desire was for water to quench his burning tongue. The fire
of coals are the fires of the high priest that try men yet the
fiery darts are the fires spoken by the ministers of darkness.
What is the good and the evil that needs to be divided if it is
not the fleshy understanding as apposed to the Spirit. Jesus
asked his disciples if they had any meat yet and sat on shore
with the fire of coals burning.

thirsty, give him water to drink:

Our (spiritual) enemies are most in need of the bread of life,
which is Jesus. Give to them that bread and give thy enemy of
the pure river of life, the water of life; teach the Gospel of
the Lord Jesus Christ. In doing so, coals of fire are heaped
upon their head. (And just who is the head of one without
Christ?) Do these things and the Lord will reward you in your
own seeking.
John 21:4-9

4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore:
but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They
answered him, No.
6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the
ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were
not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It
is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he
girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did
cast himself into the sea.
8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were
not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging
the net with fishes.
9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of
coals there, and fish laid thereon, and
bread.
Re: Fire

A dozen years ago, when I was jsut coming to know the Lord, I
asked Him for the gifts of tongues. At that time I had never
heard anyone speak in tongues (the language of angels) nor did I
think I knew anybody that did (though I found out different
later)
So three times each 2 nights apart, I asked the Lord for the
gift before going to bed. On the third time, in the middle of
the night, I awoke suddenly, sat up in bed, and it felt like I
swollowed a bug. Yet the bug was hot as it went down my throat,
and when it came to my heart it exploded, and my heart was on
fire. It felt alot like heartburn, but was not. It was clearly a
spiritual manifestation.
Now, when the Lord wants me praying in tongues, I get a fire on
my chest. Like this morning while I was parying the Lord's
prayer, which I do most every morning. So I started the Lord's
prayer and right as I was finishing it, that fire in my chest
came upon me and hard. Instantly I found my self praying in
tongues. So I listen and tried to get an interpretation, like we
are instructed to do in the Scriptures
1 Cor 14:13 Therefore let one who speaks in a tongue pray that
he may interpret
And I heard the Holy Spirit speaking to me. He told me to come
registar for this site and post.
I know I have read a lot on the holy fire and angels being
ministers of fire. I have read where the tongues came like
tongues of fire, and it happens that way in my life, though I
have talked to many with the gift and it does not seem to happen
to them the same way. I don't have a real good understanding,
thought I know it happens to me. I believe this spiritual effect
was around even before the gift of tongues was loosed. Jeremiah
seems to give an account of what happens to him:
Jer 19:9 But if I say, "I will not remember Him, or speak
anymore on His name," Then in my heart it becomes like a burning
fire shut up in my bones; and I am weary of holding it in, and I
cannot endure it.
There have been times when I was angry with the Lord because of
things I was going though, and I decided to not speak of the
Lord anymore, however the next time the Spirit came with the
fire that causes me to speak in tongues, and I tried not to let
it out, it became "like a burning fire shut up in my bones".
There is a zealousness for the Lord that is brought on by fire.

So the Lord wanted you on CDF as well as Praise Him, CBE! And
that answers my question of was I right in opening CDF to
discussions. God will guide us here, I think.
I'm not sure that the 'swallowing' a hot bug sounds pleasant,
but I did notice that you prayed 3 times each, 2 nights apart,
and the 7th time you prayed on the third night, you had this
experience. Seven is symbolic of God's perfection and seven
seems a very divine number that accomplishes things.
I was curious about the verse you sited (Jeremiah 19:9) and
found that it is actually Jeremiah 20:9:
7 O Lord, thou hast deceived me,
and I was deceived; thou art stronger than I, and hast
prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.
8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil;
because the word of the Lord was made a reproach unto me, and a
derision, daily.
9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor
speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a
burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with
forbearing, and I could not stay.
10 For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report,
say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my
halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall
prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
11 But the Lord is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore
my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they
shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their
everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.

It seems to tell us that there is a right 'way' and a wrong
'way'. Jeremiah spoke truth, but his words became a source of
reproach and derision for him (shame and ridicule) from other
people. So he became dismayed and thought to never speak of the
Lord, nor to speak 'in His Name' ever again. But, the Word was
as a burning fire within him, in his bones, and his bones were
what held him upright, so he grew weary of forbearing
(resisting) and could no longer hold back. The Word when
received must go out. Others wished to entice him to their
side, to their 'way', but Jeremiah was strengthened by knowing
that the Lord is with him as a "mighty terrible one", and that
those who persecuted him would stumble and not prevail; the
shame would become theirs and they would not prosper. The Lord
held them back in everlasting confusion. But Jeremiah--Jeremiah
is a man of God.
Your post was excellent, CBE, and makes me ponder the ways in
which God manifests His truths to us. For you, it seems, comes
a physical speaking of a strange tongue, and then you ask for
interpretation and you receive from the Spirit and are guided.
(Amadeus, also, I believe, speaks in tongues.) To others, it
seems the word itself contains a "tongue" (or language,
understanding) to be discerned and understood--one that not all
can see and one that might bring shame before men but glory
before the Lord.
I had enough of confusion. I only pray to see and to hear and
to learn godly wisdom and understanding. I think that such
things are given to us if prayed for, but perhaps God's method
is different with different people.
Much to ponder . . . Very interesting. :)
I'll be interested to see what Colin might have to say. He'll
be gone working a few more days, but hopefully when he returns,
he will come back and post.

Many times it seems with the Lord it is not either/or but
both/and. I wonder . . .

The only disagreement that I ever recall having with Colin was
on speaking in tongues.

Excellent understanding. I even pick up a lot from your review.
It is the hold back His Word that seems to cause the fire in us,
whether we pick it up in a manifestation of the Spirit, or some
other way. When the Lord is telling us to do something, like
given a word (in tongues or otherwise) it creates a fire or zeal
in us, so we have to get it out. And if we don't listen to what
He has to say to us, (seek His wisdom and understanding),
confusion will reign in our life.
