| Stihl 250 easy start | |
| By: Chainsawrepair Date: December 15, 2025, 6:31 am | |
| --------------------------------------------------------- | |
| Traded the echo 3510 for another easy start saw. Dad cant get | |
| the spring assist saws started by other makers. | |
| His 180 easy start is so much easier to start. The spring assist | |
| saws stop on him mid pull with bad shoulder. | |
| So took this easy start stihl 250 with the tool less clutch | |
| cover too. Dad likes that tool less cover on his 180. I'm not a | |
| fan of that part. | |
| Hopefully they both get where going with this time of year. | |
| Traded with a guy in TX I know in my group. | |

| Saved info from one I worked on in 2012 = It pulls over very | |
| easily out, it stops then it rotates to start it. Like I was | |
| winding something up. I will be here to about 5pm if you want to | |
| check it out. | |
| Has H L LA carb which is good but H was against stop and turning | |
| 14.8K :o :o Got out the dremel and fixed that, now turning | |
| 12.5K. | |
| I can see the easy start being useful for some people. I think a | |
| think a 3 year old could pull them since they are so easy IMO. | |
| Jim you can come check it out if you like. | |
| Jim = The "Easy Start" on the Stihl 250C that cut4fun had at | |
| his house this afternoon was unbelievably easy to pull. Not | |
| being accustomed to it and owning a regular 025, I pulled the | |
| cord all the way out and let the handle go back into the | |
| starter. Then the engine turned over and started as the Stihl | |
| 250C was stihl warm from being run earlier. I shut it off and | |
| restarted it several times this way. | |
| There is no compression release or Elastostart on this one for | |
| it is not needed. | |
| It would take a mighty stout woman to start my regular 025 for | |
| it has very strong compression and no compression release. If it | |
| is cold, I have to start it on the ground. | |
| I have a Dolmar 5105 that is supposed to be "Easy Start" and it | |
| has a wrap spring between the starter pulley and the crankshaft | |
| but it doesn't work as easy as the one on the /Stihl 250 that I | |
| used today. | |
