Poulan S25 CVA Part question.
By: grtpumpkin Date: December 5, 2025, 6:59 pm

Looking to overhaul and reseal a 1980 ish Poulan Super 25
counter vibe and having trouble sourcing the crankshaft needle
bearings. The Husky # 530032021 is discontinued. Does anyone
know the size and or a source for these bearings? This is a good
running saw and if I cant find the bearings, I dont want to
brick it. I see lots of parts for this on E bay except for
crankshaft bearings.
Any help would be appreciated.
Rich.

Thanks. I saw those. But I don't want to replace bearings with
used. I'm hoping to find a bearing number when I get it apart,
and possibly source from a bearing supplier. I'm not confident
I'll find a number on the bearings though. I gotta believe it's
a standard size bearing. There's enough of these saws on ebay
that are being parted out, one could actually build one from
scratch if so inclined. Ive already scored some new old stock
pieces I needed.

I spent the day tearing the S25 down knowing the bearings are on
the way. Picture confirms it's the exact same bearings. I
measured the crankshaft journals and they measure out at excatly
9/16 (.562") no wear at all just slight discoloration where the
bearing runs. The big end rod bearing has some up & down slop. I
also ordered that bearing. I'm not sure about the piston. it has
vertical scratches and had slight blow by all the way around.
Cylinder looks pretty good. can see crosshatching everywhere but
with some shiny spots. Cant feel anything. It's all very smooth.
Anyone know what or if the cylinder was plated back then? I
confirmed this is a 1980 casting by the cast in number on the
case. Any recommendations on a piston and rings? I haven't
checked the ring end gap yet. Also noted the ring groove has no
locater pins. Not sure how to clock them on reassembly.
Fun little project. See pics.
Well the pics suck as I had to shrink the file size to post.
The number on the bearings are the same as in my earlier reply.
