357XP fair price?
By: John Mc Date: November 24, 2022, 8:05 am
---------------------------------------------------------
I finally bought a new 562 XP to replace my old 357 XP. A local
hardware store was Husqvarna dealer is selling his business and
wanted to clear out inventory. He gave me $100 off list price
for the 562, so I grabbed it.
A good friend is interested in my old 357XP. I lent it to him to
try out. I got it used years ago, deleted the automatic
compression release and replaced the plastic intake clamp
replaced with the metal one. I've not had any significant issues
with it since replacing the coil a few years ago. The only
problem if which I'm aware is that it leaks bar oil. There is
always a little puddle under it when I pick it up. It starts
easily and runs well - though it is old: 2005 model year. I
don't have a compression tester, but when hanging from the
starter cord (B&C installed and tanks full) it barely makes it
past the compression "hump" when I let it hang free - and
sometimes stops at the compression hump (though if I shake it a
bit it will move past).
Any suggestions on what would be a fair price to ask?

No issues ready to cut 3-4 for a 357. I would guess it would
bring. 3 if he is a good friend.

John, a new and updated oil line will solve the leak issue. He
can always address that later if he wants.

Thanks, Spike. I did that replacement on my Jonsered 2152,
thanks to your help on another site. I just replaced the outer
oil line. I'm thknking I may need to replace the one running
from the tank to the pump, since that saw is still leaking a
bit. My 357XP did not leak for years, but started a year or two
ago. I just haven;t gotten around to poking aorund in it yet.

For the 357XP that line just the outer line, running from the
pump to the bar oiler outlet, or should I also be looking at the
part from the tank to the pump? Replacing just the outer line
did not solve the problem on my 2152.
