He sent me some pics last night of the 170CD KAS tagged saw.
With top cover off.
Whats up with that small air filter? Havent had a saw in with
that yet.
Magnus told me what KAS stood for when I ask about that.
= Kontrollerad Arbetaskydds Styrelsen.
Tested/Approved by Seedish work safety department.
All saws sold here had to be tested to be sold here.
No test approved, no sales.

Never seen one either Kevin. Not in any of my old musty books,
which do go back to the 70's. I do have a theory though, cause
we've seen something like this before.
The rest of that saw is consistant with the early 162's, such as
the cylinder mounted stud for the top cover nut. So the saw
itself is not remarkable. 162's came out about 1978 and this was
also the time when Husky was finishing up the model runs of saws
in what we'd call the "100" series and the beginning of the
"200" series saws. Some saws overlapped this period such as
154/254, 181/281. And it wasn't just 100 vs 200, but there was
an effort to make the next 2 digits more accurately reflect the
displacement. My theory/guess is that the 162SE was originally
destined to be named the 170, but was renamed 162 before being
released. So, that must be a rare first run saw in the pics.
A very similar thing happened a few years later with the switch
from "SE" to "XP", with SE on the ID plate and XP everywhere
else. They made a ton of saws that way, and we've all seen them.
But that 170 is a new one for me.
