| Afternoon....I have a Homelite super 2 that is hard to start. If | |
| I take the muffler off it fires right up a;most first pull every | |
| time. | |
| My question...do you clean the muffler , replace it ? Is this | |
| normal for chainsaw not to start if muffler dirty. | |
| Thanks in advance ...Walter | |

| If the muffler is plugged up, the motor cannot move air through | |
| itself, and you will not get a charge of gas in the cylinder to | |
| burn. I'm thinking that you might have a spark arrestor screen | |
| in the muffler that is plugged with exhaust residue. If so, you | |
| can take it apart and burn it off with a torch until it's clean. | |
| Make sure to do it outside because there will be a lot of | |
| smoke! | |

| update on Super 2...cleaned muffler it runs better, starts | |
| better but I continue to have trouble with it consistently | |
| running | |
| Have rebuilt carb, changed carb but it still seems to flood. | |
| Pulling my hair out on this one. | |
| @ FishNuts2 ......thanks for advice on cleaning muffler ...I am | |
| ready to set this one aside for awhile. | |
