| How is every one? My name is David from land down under I came | |
| across this awesome forum so I tought I join in and learn a few | |
| things. I am not a chain saw guy but I am in a hobby that uses | |
| similar 2t motors. The motor I play around with are Zenoah or | |
| Chang Yeng short CY but there are other motor out there as well. | |
| I would love realy love to learn how to port my own engines for | |
| better performance but most importantly I just love to learn new | |
| things. I do have a rough idea of tools req for the job also | |
| roughly how to port do's and donts but I would love to hear more | |
| form you guys. I know there are a lot of info on this forum and | |
| if some one could please link some of those threads I would | |
| appreciate it. I have posted two photos of the engines I run in | |
| my rc car one is a reed and the other is a piston port. Please | |
| guys/gals hit me up with any info and advice you have. | |

| All the principles are the same. The squish clearance is the | |
| same .020" or .5mm figure. | |
| Reeds are not used much in current chainsaws and other OPE's | |
| like weed whackers etc. | |
| The chainsaw guys often play around with the 48cc to 64cc saws. | |
| Not so much with the 30cc size. But like I said, all the ideas | |
| are the same. | |
| The current name brand professional chainsaws will run right up | |
| against 14,000 rpm right off the shelf show room stock. | |

| Hay thanx Magnum for ur reply! Yes I agree they are very similar | |
| but from what I understand the saw motors don't have as much | |
| torque n they don't rev as high! Thanx for the links dude. Man | |
| this forum is full of awsome knowledge not like the rc forums | |
| where every one compeates with how much money they can spend! So | |
| if I want to post questions which part of the forum is best? | |

| Take your pick as to where to post? Depends on what you are | |
| trying to do. | |
| If you are going to do lathe or milling machine work? | |
| Cutting and grinding? Porting mods. Timing figures? | |
| Gaskets? | |
| Use the "How to" section? | |
| RC section? | |
