Jonsered 2094

I'm working on a 2094 for a guy who logs, and he said the bar
oil gets into the fuel and vise versa. One these models the oil
and tank reservoir are side by side. A dumb design in my
opinion. When I drained the fluids, there was mix in the bar
oil tank, so he must be right. There is a pin hole leak from
the outside of the case near the mix cap on the bottom side. I
suspect its been on the concrete too long. If he hadn't just
spent $ on a new jug & piston, I would have told him to part it
out and get something else. He's not made of money and wants to
keep cost down which I certainly understand. Saw runs out good
except for these issues. He's using a 2095 now for a spare till
I get this one done. What would you guys do here, any thoughts?
What about using a tanks sealer or coating like for
motorcycles? Anyone with any experience with this stuff?
Thanks in advance. :)

Maybe you can seal the tank as if it were a rusted steel one?

Yes maybe. If I have to resort to using the sealer, I will do
both sides even though the oil side looks good inside. The mix
side has some corrosion around where the case gasket is. Likely
where its leaking. To fix it right way would involve a complete
tear down and splitting the cases. Way to much work & cost for
what it is. I told him to keep them metal cased saws off that
concrete floor. he agreed. One thing is for sure, parts are
not easy to find for these saws. They seem run good, but piss
poor design, I think. ::)

UP-date on the tank sealer. Very impressed the way this stuff
is working. ;D Applied it to both sides, and let cure a solid
week. Filled tanks, and done some cutting. So far after 2
tanks, NO mixing of the two. This stuff does work, at least for
now. Only time will tell with vibration and all. As for now,
I'm calling this job done. ;) Good day to all.
