I have a couple times, but only if I couldnt get it somewhere
else first. Usually very pricey and slow. Thats if he actually
has it.

I only tried ordering from him once after all other sources
failed.
He was three prices higher thn anyone else . . .
Placed the order and paid. Three days later was notified that
it was not available and my account was credited.
Some facts:
He's higher priced than anyone else.
His pictures are not of the actual item in his location. They
are pictures from the Internet. That leads to the following . .
.
He doesn't have most of what he advertises. That's why he's slow
and the prices are high, he has to get it into his shop then
send it out to you.
I've friends that have ordered from him and got what they
ordered. They were happy but were not into the game enough to
realize how to best play.

Ordered a husky service tool from him a couple weeks ago.
Ordered it online for convenience, so cost wasn't a deal
breaker. Long story short, it took 12 days to get here and USPS
left a note saying postage due!! WTF! So spent an hr driving
to the post office and waiting in line!!!
Dude refunded the postage due after some prodding! Gonna Buy
local next time!!!!

Interesting. I've not had any bad dealings with RD. Some of
his listings are comically overpriced. Other listings are
basically in line with others. I buy from him when I can't find
an item elsewhere (or if he's the cheapest). So far, everything
has come to me fast and without issue.
He has Homelite intake boots that I believe are newly
manufactured. I used one of his 750 boots a while back.
Quality part that worked fine. Have also bought a Homelite
clutch tool, some NOS Mac parts, and a few other things that I
cannot remember. Maybe I've just been lucky...

Let me share some simple psychology on this subject. First my
background, Ive been selling parts (not chainsaw or small
engine) since the 80s, full time. I sell about 50 parts/tools a
week, that is my comfort level with the time it takes to ship it
all (I work by myslef). That said, when I see randy duncan's
dumb mug, when Im doing a part search, each time it reinforces
that I will never buy anyting from him, unless Im looking for a
"randy duncan" specifically.
Its an intuitive thing Ive learned along the way. The facts as
presented here, cause me no surprise.
On the flip side of that coin, I drop ship NOTHING, and never
use anyone's pics, only the pic of the exact part or tool, Im
selling. You also wont find my "mug shot" anywhere on the web,
or my name, although I know I have a pride problem, I am quite
certain nobody gives two shits what I look like or who I am, all
they care about is getting what they paid for promptly, safely
packed, as described, and at the best price. Beyond that, your
stroking yourself, with youre name and pic all over the web,
just my opinion, nothing more.
When Im looking for a part, the last thing I want to see is a
pic of randy standing in front of his POS dodge pickup. Im a
redneck of the third degree, but he strikes me a real guber.

Kevin, I've done business with him in the past on oddball NLA
saw parts with no issue. The thing that pissed me off was when
I told him I got the postage due notice from USPS he treated me
like I was trying to screw him out of a few dollars and he
stated "I never ships postage due" Burden was in me to prove it
and he finally refunded the postage, No apologies. His Ebay
message stated he shipped the part the next day but USPS records
showed it wasn't in the or hands til a week later, so perhaps he
ordered the part and sent it when it arrived.
This transaction may have been the exception but it wasn't
handled well.
Windy acres, I agree on the drop shipping tactics, IMO, if you
don't have it in hand don't sell it. Too many companies play the
drop ship game and when warranty or return issues come up they
immediately pawn you off to the supplier!! No accountability. ..
On the flip side, we're lucky to have vendors like Nathaniel
Vansickle who went out of his way to send me extra Dolmar case
gaskets when I had to wait for a back ordered part.

I bought some parts off him a while back. I never got the parts.
I had to file a complaint through eBay and finally got my money
back.... I won't buy from him again.
