Homelite 410

I have a Homelite 410 a guy gave me for repairing his saw. I
rebuilt carb new fuel and oil lines and sharpened chain. runs
and cuts good. It seems to have a slow chain speed. But my
firewood saws are Husqvarna 262, and 372 so go figure. So my
question is what is a old 410 worth? Its missing grommet around
idle and mixture screws. Not sure but think muffler is upside
down.

Nice looking saw, I have heard mixed reviews on them. I wouldn't
mind finding a nice one, one of these days but need to thin down
the herd first. Price range varies on them, looking at completed
listings seems like runners are $100-225.

I brought one of these home over the holidays and so far the
only problem I found was that the fuel filter was totally
varnished up, so much so that it had glued itself to the inside
of the tank about 3 inches above the bottom of the tank. The
inside of the carb is spotless but got a cleaning and new line
anyway. I don't think this saw has many hours on it.
The question I have is about the carb boot. When these go bad,
is it obvious from the inside looking from the carb end? Mine
looks beautiful from the inside but it seems inspection from the
outside is near impossible unless you blow the saw into pieces.
