The oldest saw I have is an IEL model RA. From what I understand |
|
it was called Pioneer. The next year after mine was made IEL was |
|
bought by what now is known as Pioneer and the model was called |
|
the Pioneer 600. |

Kind of yellow green. I have a yellow 1-40 here. Guy came in |
|
today for 2 chains and a bar. When he saw the IEL on the wall he |
|
sat and told stories for 1/2 hour about running them. He may |
|
come back for a new saw. Never hurts to talk. |

Trying to fit a Stihl 088 bar on the old IEL. Only .404 bar I |
|
have around. This IEL is the best starting saw I ever used. |
|
Taking it to a GTG/race just for kicks. |

Got an answer on the rpm question. Seems its a real speed demon. |
|
5500-6000 rpm tops. |
