What was your first Partner saw?
By: Old Iron Logging Date: March 7, 2011, 7:35 pm

When I was a kid, Dad was logging for a few years. I remember
the old yellow saws. R16,17,20,21. Alot of those old ones are
still in the firewood piles around here. My first was a used
R16.

The R16 was kind of special, as it didn't have any AV, like the
later pro versions had.

I dont go that far back.
Just got into messing with chainsaws as a hobby. So it was the
500 and then a 5000 plus.

I had an R22 for a year, was well worn and rather moody. We did
not separate as friends, actually throw it in a bush when it
refused to start and the rope snapped. Went to the car, drove
directly to the nearest saw dealer and bought a second hand
Husqvarna 242. Was in the beginning of the nineties.

After reading Cut's posts on RS bought 5000 first, then 5000+
(parts saw has comp) it's on the long list. Then a mint 400.
When I learn how pic's will follow.

What models you looking for? Never know it might be on my
shelves and I'm always willing to trade for something.

There are actually very few saws I am looking for. After the
first 40 or so I decided to let the saws find me. With that
said, I'd never turn a Partner down with "000" in the model
number, or any of the 100cc ones. I guess those things just
were not sold much here in the south. I'm always up for barter
as well.

Decal on top cover and a p+c you have a 7000 ;) I lost
interest in making the switch to a 7000 or P70 top end after
running it with the 550 top. I was happy as it was.

I didnt trade for the 3 P100 I have been offered or the partner
made 2-3 poulan 655 for $200 a piece as runners. Just not
interested in those saws either.
