Rafa is still in the desert. He was out at the Nest last night,
is practicing at Larry's private hardcourts, and is working on
his back hand and forehand.
His back... IS NOT THE PROBLEM
I tell you once, I tell you again... HE MADE IT CLEAR.. he's
done with back discussion...
He's still here because he has privacy, and yesterday he was
reviewing Uncle Larry's America's Cup Oracle sail plans. Then
practiced. He LOVES it here.
The weather, the company, the host.
Yesterday, Larry didn't come to grounds until the night session,
and during the Dolgopolov/Raonic match a Ukrainian flag was
draped over his seats...
Read into that whatever you wish! :D

Do you guys know what 'bone edema' is? If not, look it up. This
is the LEAST of back injuries anyone could have, in reality. It
means that there is
swelling around the bone, probably from the hardcourts...
nothing more. Its not a chronic problem. Edema is like a bruise,
it has to heal.
MOVE ON, next story.....

we need 2 slams this year. we need RG and we need the U.S. Open
to hell with the rankings at this point. health and strong
fitness now is the single most important thing.
2 slams in 2014 and showing up healthy and fit for the 2015
Australian Open is all that matters.
that will significantly increase the likelihood of catching
Federer's 17 slams.
bottom line: he has to try to peak for RG and for the U.S. Open
this year. the rest will take care of itself.

With nothing to defend in Miami, I doubt he will play it if he
doesn't feel better about the 'situation' with the FH/BH. So, I
expect him to either skip
if he doesn't feel prepared, because he doesn't do well there
anyway, and take a longer period of rest and restoration (as
well as preparation)
for Monte Carlo.
I haven't any worries about catching Fed's record. His career is
more 'complete' than Fed's, IMO, Davis Cups, Gold Medal,
youngest career slam...
The rest... fuuggghhhedaboutit! He isn't chasing history, in my
opinion. He's RACING time.

I am having computer issues again. I have again managed to lose
some of the screen/ monitor resolution.
I am not all that tech savvy so I cant really fix anything in a
hurry.

What are your most favorite slams?
and also your most favorite tournaments outside slams?
my most favorite slams are RG and the Australian Open. I guess I
would rank the u.s. open third.
my most favorite tournaments outside of the slams:
1. Monte Carlo
2. Rome Masters
3. Bareclona
4. and now Rio Open
