That is awesome! :)
That Monte Carlo pic is SO great...
Yeah, the lost finals are starting to pile up. After the USO
there's been what, 4 already?, Shanghai, WTF, AO (:(), Miami.
:-\
At least he's won a couple since.
I'm afraid the injury has been derailing his season. His level
hasn't yet been quite the same, except for a couple matches in
Miami. Now, Rafa did say his level improved in Miami compared
to before it, so that is good. He needs to get his level back.
Did you see his post-final press conference btw?, it was some
good analysis from him I thought.

i was so heartbroken from that Miami final that i have yet to
even see the match. I was out on the road when the match was
being played. thank goodness I was not home otherwise I would
have watched it on the tele.
we have it at our global tennis video center by the way. i don't
think i am going to watch it.
i did not care for his presser either. the sooner i can forget
Miami forever the sooner the better. I know he was disappointed
so I did not want to see him that way. Australian Open final was
bad enough for people like me.
i will be honest with you: the back injury has set him back
which has derailed his fitness. he was not able to practice as
well as he would like to either.
for example he was not able to serve for 10 days after Rio.
he said it the other day in some article that i read: he said he
has to work harder and get in better shape. that explains it
all.
we will get nole at RG and we will take him down at flushing
meadows if we run into him there. i am pretty confident of that.
now it would not hurt to take him down a few times before that
either. he will be in monte carlo, Madrid, and rome. Rafa will
be waiting for him there.
nole will always have the edge on the hard courts in the best of
3 sets formats. he has won at least 8 of them with scores like
6-2, 6-3/ 6-3, 6-2/ 6-3, 6-3 and the like.
we don't care. we will take all the clay events and the slams
going forward. i do believe that Rafa will be too worn out for
Wimbledon to be able to make a deep run there but lets hope for
the best anyway.
Rafa has to make it count at RG and at Flushing Meadows and that
is all that matters now. rest will take care of itself.

that 2013 monte carlo pic is one of his best ever. I use it a
lot in my sports images that I make for fun and relaxation.
here is another one I made. I made the Rafa bull logo out of the
RG clay:

Chile is quite prone to earthquakes. thank goodness this was not
as bad as the one in 2010.
the one in 1960 was also a tremendous tragedy for Chile.

Oh, I understand you. I never watch replays of matches Rafa has
lost. For example, I still haven't seen the 2009 RG match.
It is frustrating to see injuries derail his career again and
again. It happened in 2004 (he should have won his first title
much earlier than he did), in late 2006 / early 2007, in 2009 of
course. 2012, and now again. The AO still hurts and always
will really.
Sigh. I guess he's used to it in a way and knows he can come
back.
Let's hope he gets himself and his game in shape for the clay
season.
Yeah, Chile is very prone to earthquakes. The one in 2010 was
8.8, this one apparently 8.2. The one from 1960 was 9.5 and
maybe higher. In all cases though the most damage was caused by
the ensuing tsunamis rather than the earthquakes themselves.
FOr example in 2010 I don't think anyone died from the
earthquake itself. The incompetent government however, having
conflicting info about a tsumani, decided not only not to issue
a tsunami alert, but to tell the whole country that there was no
danger of tsunami whatsoever. They even told people who had
evacuated on their own to go back to their houses, where many
died when the waves came.

I only saw some highlights of that 2009 RG final. i can assure
you that i have no desire of watching that final.
we have it here at our global tennis video center.
i did see the 2010 RG final live and then a couple of more times
after that. that set the record straight.
its really a great tragedy that the poor fellow has been struck
down with so many injuries.

Oh, I had meant I haven't seen the match against Soderling from
2009. But I haven't seen the final either, mind you.

i hear ya.
i made a mistake. i forget so quickly. i am realizing now that
the 2009 Rafa vs Soderling match at RG was not the final. of
course i knew that but i tend to lose sight of it at times.
anyway highlights of that match told me all i needed to know:
Rafa was having trouble pushing off his leg. his movement was
compromised and his ground game was thrown off. on the other
side of the ledger, soderling played a match of his life but
then again how can you not pounce on short balls that were
bouncing around his service lines or inside the service boxes.
Rafa is 8-0 at RG finals.
anyway i did not watch the 2009 RG final either. i had to be
somewhere so i was not home to watch it.

Hello Crisstti! I am Maria from Brazil.
I'm totally supportive of what happened in Chile, TV news give
us news about the earthquake everyday. I wish that God will
protect them and that give you strength to overcome this
difficult time.
Glad you're well and you're back to Camelot.
Your comments and reviews are great.
I still feel the pain of the AO final.... I try to forget, but
it still hurts in my own back, and I can also imagine that it is
very difficult for Rafa. This shook their physical and emotional
side, it's evident, unfortunately... even as strong as Rafa is,
the truth is that he still feels the blow.
but I have faith and trust him... I know he will be able to
rebuild.

Hi Maria!, gee, your post is from almost a year ago. Will you
believe me I hadn't seen it?.
It was 5 years from the earthquake yesterday.
Thank you very much for your good wishes :)
That AO final was one of the toughest moments of his career for
sure, and for us as fans too. Injuries have taken so much from
his career. But he's strong and we can trust he will do his
best every time to come back. And his good is pretty good.
How great was Rafa today btw?. I'm feeling in a very good mood
:)
