Get it out of your System!
By: thetruth Date: November 27, 2013, 12:54 am
---------------------------------------------------------
We all have times when we get terribly irritated by the actions
of others, and "consider the source" just doesn't cut it.
Sometimes you need to get the petty stuff out of your system.
Vent, and then release and let it go.
I wanted this board so that we could do just that. This is a
place to air our grievances against those that make our blood
boil.
But, it is not a place to lash out at other posters, because
that is getting too personal.
No, this is where you can share your feelings about the jerk
that cut you off in traffic. The co-worker who lied on you (no
names), or the neighbor who's trying to get all up in your
grill.
As a matter of fact, speaking of neighbors. This guy was the
inspiration that made me ask for this Rant & Rave section, so
I'll start.
My neighbor is on disability. According to him he hit a brick
wall going over 70 miles an hour and broke most of the bones in
his body. Strangely, his back, knees, and leg problems does not
prohibit him from painting the exterior of houses, cutting down
trees, and being general handy man.
Anyway, he and his wife have shared one car for the last four
years that I have lived here. He had a handicap pole in front of
his house for his disability and because he is the only one on
the street without a garage.
Several weeks ago, they bought a new car. He came over and asked
me if I would mind pulling up a bit so that all three of our
cars could fit in the space in front of his house. I said, "no
problem."
What I didn't know was that he was planning to get another pole!
Once the 2nd pole was put in, him and wifey began parking all
crazy so that I couldn't get a spot on the street! Mind you, we
live on a one way street and parking is scarce.
Every time I left my spot, (where I had been parking for the
last 4 years), they would be peeking out of the window to see
when I was leaving. Then they would make a mad dash out of the
door and park their cars in a way that I was left without a
spot.
Can you believe that? What possesses people to have so little
etiquette and manners these days. I just don't get it.
End of rant.

I like the idea behind this thread.
it will give us a chance to share our various stories and even
vent a little bit.

This is such a cool thread, TT and herc. I need to rant and rave
too and get it out of the system! My rant will probably mostly
be about work and sometimes, ahem, other forums or maybe
posters? Or maybe I will leave them out of it. Only post when I
won't be able to help myself at all. And I will have then you
guys comfort me and vice versa.
TT, I read what happened with your neighbor. Very sneaky of them
no doubt but you must be the bigger person here. In the meantime
though, what's happening to your parking? Where are you parking
these days? This sounds really frustrating. I really feel you
need to speak to them in person and come to a solution. If you
approach it nicely and show your frustration modestly, chances
are, they might see the true side of it and feel for you. It's
worth a try.

Oh Emma,
You are so awesome. This is exactly what I had in mind. We can
vent and other posters can offer comfort and point us in the
right direction.
I am so angry, but I am also passive-aggressive. I'm sure he
would say something to tick me off and my aggressive side would
come out.
Right now I have to find a place wherever I can and with the
weather getting cold so is my anger.
I don't have the patience to talk to people like this, because
they usually lie and that infuriates me.
I have someone coming Friday to look at my garage door and then
I will get it fixed. As to my neighbor, he's toast.
Such a smarmy character whose essence I picked up on from the
very start.
So, I ignore him, especially with winter coming. We probably
won't cross paths too often.

absolutely brilliant thread.
this thread is going to rock in about a year when we are around
200 strong.
I get irritated with the way people drive. they are careless and
inattentive. and now days they all have the texting disease.
so they text as they drive.

Of course if they were good people then they would have been
considerate but clearly they are not at that stage yet. Perhaps
fixing the garage is your only choice left. And it's probably a
good idea too.
And if you don't like confronting people who tend to cheat and
lie, then it's best not to reason with them because it will be
fruitless. But you can always set an example right here. Didn't
Jesus say 'love your neighbor'? Very nice actually and was
probably meant with no condition but perhaps only a few people
can take themselves to that level. It frustrates me a great deal
as well when people are so transparent but unfortunately not all
are equally evolved.
Hope the parking situation gets resolved as soon as possible. It
can be brutal in winter! My parking is underground and I have a
designated place for it, so reading yours just made me realize
that perhaps condo life is not so bad after all.

Yes, the bible does say love your neighbor, but it also says,
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose
under the heaven:...A time to love, and a time to hate; a time
of war, and a time of peace."
This is a time for war, because he has mistaken my demeanor as
one of weakness. He thinks that because I smile and say hi, and
am respectful that he can run over me, and that's simply not the
case. I knew in my spirit that this moment would come, and the
necessary words and actions accompanied me.

Yes, they might have taken your friendliness for granted. Maybe
you can teach them a lesson now that the time has come.

I'm hoping that's it. I don't have a lot of patience for
ignorance, and I detest people thinking that I don't know what's
going on.
I always know what's going on, whether I decide to address it is
another matter.
Anyway, it was important that I dispel the perception that he
had of me.
Now he knows that I will not be intimidated by him and I don't
play pretend either.
I'm fine now. I needed to get my anger out and he presented me
with the opportunity.
I can move on now.

Time ti watch a drama movie to get some tears and pressure out
of me.
Music and movies heal me.
