I read this letter to Ask Eric about a couple married a year |
|
prior and asking co-workers to donate to a honeymoon fund. It |
|
sounds as if gifts were given at the wedding. The first line of |
|
the response cracked me up... it's what is quoted in the subject |
|
line. |

Ha! Yes, that's a funny line. |
|
To answer the LW, I would just keep my mouth shut. The coworker |
|
doesn't sound like anyone I'd be inclined to want to be friendly |
|
with outside of work, and the potential repercussions of |
|
advising her outweigh any benefit I can think of. |

Seconded. She has created an account on a crowd-funding website |
|
and let everyone know she wants them all to chip in to the tune |
|
of a minimum of $75 each for her delayed honeymoon. When |
|
contributions failed to flood in, she let everyone know that she |
|
was disappointed by their stinginess. If she�s not capable of |
|
working out for herself why she's at risk of losing friends, |
|
it�s quite pointless to try to explain to her. |
